You can expect pleasant weather that’s ideal for sightseeing from March to May, and from September to November. During these seasons, you can enjoy outdoor attractions without the extreme summer heat or winter cold that some regions experience.

Northwestern USA

Cities like New York and Boston, are known for their 4 distinct seasons. You’ll likely experience cold winters from December to February and humid summers from June to August.

Southern USA

States like Texas and Florida experience warm temperatures year-round. Summers are typically hot and humid, with temperatures between 25°C and 35°C. Winters are usually mild and range from 10°C to 20°C.

Western USA

Hotspots like California and Nevada are known for their dry and warm climates, especially in summer. Coastal areas like Los Angeles have mild temperatures, while deserts can be extremely hot, with temperatures over 40°C in summer.

The USA has several time zones, including Eastern, Central, Mountain and Pacific. Daylight saving time is observed in most states from March to November, so remember to set your clock an hour ahead in spring and back in autumn.

How long it takes to fly to the USA depends on what major Australian city you’re departing from.

When travelling to the USA from Australia or New Zealand, you'll need a Type A or Type B power plug adapter.
