With new metro lines under construction and speakeasy bars popping up in laneways and rooftops, the city is in a constant flux of change.

During your tour, you'll have the opportunity to experience firsthand the cramped conditions and dim lighting that characterised life underground. You'll also see ingenious traps and hidden entrances that were used to defend the tunnels. The tunnel system was an excellent way for the Vietcong to move around the countryside undetected by foreign troops and was at one stage home to around 10,000 people.

After exploring these tunnels, along with the nearby remains of American tanks and numerous bomb craters, drive back to Ho Chi Minh City arriving in the mid afternoon. The rest of the evening will be spent at leisure.

Day 7 Temples of Angkor Wat

Today, embark on an immersive full-day exploration of the awe-inspiring Angkor Wat, the crown jewel of Khmer architecture and a testament to the zenith of 12th-century Khmer artistic expression. This UNESCO World Heritage Site stands as the most balanced, harmonious, and perfect example of Khmer temple design, a must-see for any visitor to Cambodia.

Your journey commences at the majestic south gate of Angkor Thom, a colossal walled city that once served as the heart of the Khmer Empire. Marvel at the intricate bas-reliefs adorning the gate's facade, depicting scenes from epic battles and everyday life during the Khmer era. Venture further into Angkor Thom to discover the Terrace of Elephants, a sprawling platform that formerly served as the foundation for the king's grand audience hall. Envision the pageantry and spectacle that once unfolded here as the king addressed his subjects and foreign dignitaries. Adjacent to the Terrace of Elephants lies the enigmatic Terrace of the Leper King, a raised platform adorned with a statue of Yama, the Hindu god of death.

Following a lunch at a local restaurant (included), where you can savour the flavours of authentic Khmer cuisine, your journey continues to the captivating Ta Prohm Temple. This temple has been deliberately left in a state of partial ruin, with massive tree roots entwining its walls and structures. This unique blend of nature and architecture creates an ethereal atmosphere, transporting you back to the time of the Khmer Empire.

Vietnam
Australian passport holders are eligible to apply online for a single entry electronic visa (e-visa), valid for up to a maximum of 90 days. Lodge your application online (for a non-refundable fee) with the Vietnamese National Web Portal of Immigration. You will be given a unique code to track your visa application status. Once your visa is granted, you must print it out and present it at check in. Keep this e-visa print out with you at all times during your travel in Vietnam.

Your Port Of Entry will be the first port you fly into in Vietnam. For example if you are flying from Australia to Hanoi and onwards to HanoiHo Chi Minh City on day 1 for the beginning of your tour, your Port of Entry will be Hanoi International Airport.

Some private online visa services and travel agents have scammed travellers or been involved in the public disclosure of the personal information of applicants for visas and 'visa issued on arrival' approval letters. To avoid such scams, only use official Government of Vietnam services to arrange your visa. Visa and other entry and exit conditions (such as currency, customs and quarantine regulations) change regularly. Contact the nearest Embassy or Consulate of Vietnam for up-to-date information.

Cambodia
For Australian and New Zealand passport holders to enter Cambodia you'll need a visa. You can apply for an e-visa online through the Cambodian Government's official portal www.evisa.gov.kh (processing time is 3 - 5 days) or through an embassy or consulate of Cambodia. Alternatively you can get a tourist visa on arrival.

All travellers are also required to submit the Cambodia e-Arrival Card within 7 days before their arrival. See https://www.arrival.gov.kh/ for more information.

Important:
• Please start arranging your visa three weeks before departure to account for any delays due to consulate operating hours.
• Visa rules are subject to change. Please check with the nearest embassy, consulate or immigration department of the destination/s you are visiting once you receive your travel documentation to ensure you have the most up to date information.
• It is your responsibility to be travel-ready and ensure that you are aware and comply with any destination or travel requirements, including the validity of all required travel documents.
• Passengers who are not Australian citizens must also check with the respective consulate or visa agency to determine what their visa requirements are and what personal identification is required.
• It is also important to note that some areas of employment, such as journalism, government authorities and charity organisations, may have additional restrictions in applying for visas. This may, in turn, affect the type of application required.
