Day 8 Olden - Innvikfjorden - Nordfjord, Norway

Olden, Norway (tender)
A peaceful village located at the mouth of Oldeelva river, Olden sits at the northern end of the Oldedalen valley on the Nordfjorden southern shore.
A place where winding valleys and peaks live in harmony with cascading waterfalls and glacier waters, in Olden, you are presented with many wonderful things to see and do.
Just a short walk to the sleepy village on Norway’s Nordfjord, the tender port of Olden is where you will first lay eyes on Olden’s sweeping turquoise landscape and the extraordinary views that accompany it.
A gateway to the glaciers, guests from near and far travel to Olden each year to explore its rugged coastline, hilly highland, and fascinating fjords. Raw wilderness made accessible, it’s no wonder so many guests embark on the journey to discover the impressive spectrum of offerings available.

Innvikfjorden Norway (scenic cruising)
Earning its unofficial title of ‘Mother Nature’s Wonderland’, Innvikfjorden is one of the best-known fjords in Norway. Gently stretching across 4.5 kilometres, a cruise through these tranquil waterways on a Cunard Queen offers a constant stream of scenic views to admire.
You’ll witness a shoreline peppered with picturesque villages and farmsteads, scattered among sprawling hills. Breathe in the crisp clean air and lose yourself in the natural wonders of this unforgettable region.

Nordfjord, Norway (scenic cruising)
Sailing offers by far the best way to appreciate the scale and majesty of this ancient region, where the palette of blues, greys, and greens is occasionally punctuated by an ambitious hiker, or a wild pony grazing at the Fjord’s edge. Selected branches of the Nordfjord even resemble a tropical paradise, with near-transparent waters fringing beaches composed entirely of pure white sand.
A journey that delivers no end of outstanding views, a cruise-by of Nordfjord is your chance to immerse yourself in the mesmerising natural scenery that’s a signature of sailing Norway’s Fjords.
In this respect ,your cruise-by of Nordfjord will not disappoint. Norway’s sixth-largest Fjord is home to Europe’s biggest mainland glacier, as well as the continent’s deepest lake.

Overnight: Cunard Queen Anne

Meals included: Breakfast; Lunch; Dinner

Day 9 Trondheim, Norway

Explore regal pomp and ceremony, Norwegian style. The wooden Stiftsgarden is the city’s official royal residence and monarchs are still being crowned here under the Nidaros Cathedral’s gleaming spire.
You can also ride the quaint sightseeing streetcars, or visit the open-air folk museums, a working ski jump, or the famous Lokken Copper Mines (charges may apply).

Overnight: Cunard Queen Anne

Meals included: Breakfast; Lunch; Dinner

Day 10 At Sea

Overnight: Cunard Queen Anne

Meals included: Breakfast; Lunch; Dinner

Day 11 Bodo, Norway

Bodo perches on a picturesque stretch of peninsula just inside the Arctic Circle. A genuine Norwegian find.

Bodo’s surroundings feature impressive coastal pine forests and mountainous backdrops that include Ronvikfjellet Viewpoint, just a short drive along the coastal roads.
Home to some 50,000 residents, it is one of Norway’s fastest-growing cities. It boasts a thriving arts community that includes crafts such as glass blowing, ceramics and jewellery making. The town also has a rising music scene that includes two major music festivals every August.

Like so many parts of Norway, Bodo suffered heavy bombing during the Second World War. Its Cathedral was one of the casualties and was totally rebuilt following the conflict when the city ran an architectural design competition. The result is a striking design both inside and out. The unusual exterior includes an impressive 118-foot bell tower, while attention inside is inevitably drawn to the 40-foot high stained glass window.
A smattering of shops can be found around the city itself and so too a few interesting exhibitions, like those found at the aviation museum. You can glimpse back into the past in Kjaerringoy, probably the country’s best-preserved seaside trading post where you’ll find strong echoes of how life was for the fishermen and merchants who lived here in the late nineteenth century.

Overnight: Cunard Queen Anne

Meals included: Breakfast; Lunch; Dinner

Day 12 Tromso, Norway

Whilst sailing to Tromso, you’ll encounter Mother Nature at her most spectacular. Surrounded by unspoiled wilderness, glass-like fjords, and towering snow-capped mountains, every vista here offers something else to savour. The sky above Tromso can also be a truly breathtaking spectacle when the dramatic northern lights dance across the sky during dark winter nights.

In summer, the midnight sun never sets on this bustling city, famous for its vibrant nightlife. The crisp, clear days give way to long, bright nights, filled with hiking, fishing, or simply a warming cup of tea as you watch the locals go about their day.
There are two areas where your cruise ship may dock as you arrive in Tromso. One is the Breivika Cruise Port which lies around 4 kilometres north of the city centre. From here, shuttle buses are usually on hand to take you to the city. Some ships may dock at the Prostneset dock, right at the edge of the city. This dock houses a terminal building with Wi-Fi, shops, restaurants, and a tourist information centre. With a perhaps surprisingly active cultural scene and exciting nightlife for a city as compact as this. Home to a former whaling station and the world’s northernmost university, Tromso is an eclectic mix of old and new. Here you’ll find historic traditional wooden houses coexisting amongst striking modern architecture.

Overnight: Cunard Queen Anne

Meals included: Breakfast; Lunch; Dinner

Day 13 Honningsvag - North Cape, Norway

Picturesque Honningsvag is the northernmost city in mainland Norway, and is often referred to as the ‘gateway to the North Cape’. Glimpse quaint colourful houses as you sail into the quiet and calm bay on your Cunard Queen, before disembarking and discovering this compact city. It’s the perfect place to take a relaxing stroll and meet the friendly local people before sailing into the awe-inspiring wilds of the North Cape.
Explore museums where you can learn all you ever wanted to know about the North Cape, admire the pristine white exterior of the Honningsvåg Church and maybe even visit the Artico Christmas House. This shop bills itself as the ‘largest northernmost Christmas shop in Europe’ and it’s a winter wonderland perfect for adults and children alike.

North Cape (Sail By)
With few signs of civilisation, a cruise to the North Cape feels akin to travelling back to a prehistoric time, long before man-made its mark on the landscape.
An infinite horizon, devoid of any landscapes. Imposing cliffs lapped by ever-encroaching waves. Perhaps you’ll have the good fortune to see puffins or reindeer on your stay in port. Or maybe you’ll visit when the snow has settled in, reminding you of just how high you’ve climbed above the Arctic Circle.

Overnight: Cunard Queen Anne

Meals included: Breakfast; Lunch; Dinner

Day 14 At Sea

Overnight: Cunard Queen Anne

Meals included: Breakfast; Lunch; Dinner

Day 15 Andalsnes, Norway

(Possible tender)
Not far from the idyllic Andalsnes, you’ll locate a unique curiosity: the ‘Troll Wall’, which features immense grassy cliffs forming Europe's highest vertical mountain face. An amazing natural wonder.
A steady climb of the ‘Troll Ladder’ entails a zigzagging road of hairpin bends on the steep mountainside, revealing spectacular valley views as you near the thundering Stigfossen Waterfall.

Overnight: Cunard Queen Anne

Meals included: Breakfast; Lunch; Dinner

Day 16 Alesund, Norway

Sailing through Norway’s glass-like waters on route to Alesund, you’ll be struck by a sweeping peninsula of Art Nouveau architecture, stretching to lush greenery, where mountain peaks reach skyward, reflected in the converging fjords.
Arriving in Alesund, you could be forgiven for thinking you’d stepped off your ship into the pages of a fairy-tale. A myriad of towering spires and decorative turrets, it’s easy to see why this vibrant fishing port is regarded as one of the prettiest cities in Norway.

A town that rose from the ashes after almost being destroyed in its entirety by a fire in 1904, Alesund now expands across seven small islands, seamlessly connected via an elaborate network of underwater tunnels.

Welcoming locals, delicious fresh cuisine, enchanting architecture, and breathtaking scenery, are just some of the highlights to look forward to if your Norwegian adventure includes a call in Alesund.

In June, London experiences mild and pleasant summer weather with average daytime highs ranging from 19–22°C and lows of 11–14°C. Days are often warm, with plenty of daylight due to the long summer days, but evenings and early mornings can feel cool. Rain is possible, as London has a fairly consistent chance of showers year-round, but June is one of the drier months, with only light or moderate rainfall expected. Humidity levels are moderate, and conditions are generally comfortable for outdoor activities. Light clothing is suitable for the day, but bringing a jacket or sweater for cooler times and an umbrella for occasional showers is advisable.

Norway
Norway's climate varies significantly from region to region due to its long narrow shape and diverse topography. It stretches from the same latitude as Alaska in the United States to parts of Scotland in the UK.
Summer (June to August)
• Generally enjoys the warmest weather, with temperatures ranging from 13°C to 22°C (55°F to 72°F), and longer daylight hours. This is the best time for hiking and exploring the fjords.
