Embrace the pale stone monuments, crooked cobbled streets and views out to the moody Firth of Forth estuary. Day 10 Stornoway

Both Gaelic and English are spoken in Stornoway, a place of harmony and diversity located in the Scotland Western Isles.

If you’ve ever listened to the famous UK shipping forecast, you’ll have heard the name Stornoway mentioned in the cryptic but soothing relay of crucial information to sea-farers. Dock in Stornoway to enter one of the most scenic natural harbours in the Outer Hebrides. The town on the Isle of Lewis has earned its reputation for having a deep, sheltered and welcoming port, justifying its name, which means “steering bay.”

The pier was built on the original site of Stornoway Castle, which was destroyed by Cromwell’s forces in 1653. The beauty of the harbour belies its bustling energy and thriving businesses of freight, ferry and leisure traffic, as well as a busy fishing industry.

Overnight: Cunard's Queen Anne

Meals included: Breakfast; Lunch; Dinner

Day 11 Isle of Mull (scenic cruising)

Mull is home to rugged coastlines and over 260 bird species. Keep your eyes on the waves for minke whales and porpoises.

The sight of the island is dominated by the Mull mountains, a beautiful combination of grey granite and green slopes. Small coastal towns can be seen from the ocean, most notably the colourful seafront houses of Tobermory, made famous by the CBBC series Balamory. The coastline varies from flat, sandy beaches to sheer rocky cliffs. The former forms a habitat for unusual plant species, including thrift, which can turn the view varying shades of pink.

The Isle of Mull is also known as Eagle Island and the area is home to the densest population of breeding golden eagles - Scotland’s national bird – in the world. Rarer than this are sightings of the white-tailed eagle. This majestic creature disappeared from the islands for over a century, only to return in the 1980s. With a 2.5 metre wingspan, they are difficult to miss once they decide to take flight from the craggy clifftops. Alongside these winged giants, look for grey heron, oystercatcher, puffins and many others along the coastline.

Overnight: Cunard's Queen Anne

Meals included: Breakfast; Lunch; Dinner

Day 12 Greenock (Glasgow)

Greenock is your gateway to Glasgow, arguably Scotland’s most animated cultural city. It serves as a brilliant stepping-stone to some of Scotland's most rugged and breathtaking scenery to the north. As you disembark at Greenock you will likely be greeted by the stirring sights and sounds of a traditional Scottish pipe band in full tartan regalia.

Greenock itself is a pretty town just a short walk from the port. It has a rich heritage of herring fishing and ship building. The prosperity resulting from these lucrative industries is quite evident in the impressive Victorian architecture of the major buildings in town, such as the Sheriff Court, the Municipal Building and the Customs House – now a museum dedicated to the town’s maritime history.

Recently, there has been huge investment in the waterfront area, the original location of the shipyards, with some very impressive residential property and a theatre now overlooking the stunning marina. The town has a range of shops from exclusive boutiques to large department stores. Both can be found undercover in the Oak Mall and outside on the main thoroughfare of West Blackhall Street.

Overnight: Cunard's Queen Anne

Meals included: Breakfast; Lunch; Dinner

Day 13 Liverpool, England

Liverpool, Cunard’s spiritual home, is a unique city in the north of England. It’s energetic and modern, but at the same time has an unmistakable taste of the 60s. Get lost on purpose while exploring busy streets. Marvel at architectural wonders. Ponder the lives of those who’ve lived and worked here over the years. You’ll find many notable landmarks in Liverpool that you may want to take in during your visit, to help you get to know the city and its people.

Overnight: Cunard's Queen Anne

Meals included: Breakfast; Lunch; Dinner

Day 14 Liverpool

Named the European City of Culture in 2008, Liverpool has great significance in the history of Britain. A rich maritime past first put Liverpool on the map, and today the city is known for its diversity and contributions in the world of sport and music, being home to the world-renowned Liverpool Football Club, and of course, The Beatles. Explore everything from fascinating museums to vibrant streets filled with shops, restaurants, street art and eye-catching architecture.

Day 16 Dun Laoghaire (Dublin), Ireland

The port of Dún Laoghaire has been integral to Ireland since the 19th century, when it became home to the largest man-made harbour in Western Europe. Dún Laoghaire quickly became not only an important trade hub, but it also began to attract Victorian gentry as a seaside resort. Reminders of this elegant past can be seen throughout this pretty town, with its well-kept formal gardens, ornate iron work and architecture.

Upon docking in Dún Laoghaire you may be planning to make your way to the jewel in Dublin Bay’s crown - Ireland’s capital city, Dublin. However, should you wish to stay closer to your ship, there’s plenty to see and do in Dún Laoghaire itself.

Dún Laoghaire offers a variety of ways to spend your day. If you’re not exploring the local culture in a museum, perhaps you’ll soak up the atmosphere harbourside or find a quaint café from which to people-watch?

For a taste of the quintessential Victorian holiday in Dún Laoghaire, you could take a simple stroll by the water - maybe savouring a local Teddy’s ice cream as you do (delicious even on the greyest of days!). Why not make your way to one of the piers? The East Pier is just over a mile and a half, and the West Pier is almost two, but do note that the latter is not paved. Either one brings highlights like the old Victorian bandstand on the East, and the Coal Harbour on the West.

Overnight: Cunard's Queen Anne

Meals included: Breakfast; Lunch; Dinner

Day 17 Cobh (Cork)

Cobh is a quaintly charming seaside town built on a steep hill on the Great Island in Cork’s natural harbour. The town features colourful houses and the impressive spire of Saint Coleman’s Cathedral. Historically, Cobh was the departure point for almost half of the six million Irish people who left the Emerald Isle behind for a new life in North America between 1848 and 1950.

When you cruise into Cobh you dock only 200 yards from the centre of town, perfect for steppinf off the ship straight into the warm ambience of Ireland. There are countless sights of historical interest and importance, such as the Fota House, Arboretum and Gardens located nearby.

Cobh is only 20 minutes' drive from Cork city, the capital of Cork county. The city is built on an island on the River Lee and spanned by many bridges which create a glamorous continental feel, much like Venice. If shopping is a favourite pastime then the stylish boutiques and major department stores will keep you very busy.

Other important information

TOUR GUIDE VS. TOUR LEADER
Tour Guide:
Often locals with intimate knowledge of an area, its culture, and history. Their role entails providing commentary, routing the tour, and seeing that people have a good time. They are a licensed, qualified expert who supplies specific information on the history, art, architecture and culture of the city/village/attraction where they are guiding the tour. The guide meets the group at the required place and leaves it at the end of the tour; they do not travel with the group.

Tour Leader:
An experienced person tasked with ensuring the smooth operation of tours, as well as providing practical support to passengers throughout the whole trip. Their role primarily includes assisting with accommodation, transportation between locations, and communication with tour guides at each stop. A tour leader may provide general guidance around a city or village and offer information on the place visited on the bus. However, they are not required to have specific art, architecture, or historical knowledge. They are not allowed to provide a guided tour or commentary of a city/village/attraction once there and, if caught doing so, can be fined.

Please note: Tour leaders/guides are not a standard inclusion in all travel offers. Tour leaders/guides will only be made available when required to enhance the experience of the destination featured.

Fitness Level Required:
Adventure (and spontaneity) create some of the best travel memories. Bear in mind, your home schedules and timings might not be adhered to on tour - it's all part of the fun!

A relaxed level of fitness will be required. Expect a comfortable pace of touring with a focus on leisure time and gentle activity. This may include city tours, the ability to walk up and down small flights of stairs and gentle slopes. You will be responsible for your own luggage and have the ability to board all modes of transport without assistance. Please note: Some areas may be inaccessible to wheelchairs or mobility scooters, with personal walking sticks and other aids required should they be needed. Although some assistance may be available, every traveller should be self-reliant during all aspects of their travel.

Please note: It is expected that every traveller must be self-reliant and able to undertake all aspects of their own travel. Please speak to your booking agent about your personal circumstances and any assistance requirements to ensure this tour is right for you.
Please note: If you have any concerns, please consult your healthcare provider prior to purchase/travel.

Yellow Fever:
A valid international certificate of vaccination against Yellow Fever is required in many countries. You may need to present this on arrival at the airport or border crossing. Some countries will refuse entry if you are unable to present your certificate. It's also common for your home country to request a Yellow Fever certificate upon arrival.
You must check with your doctor well before leaving home about the Yellow Fever requirements for the countries you'll be visiting.

Sightseeing:
Please note: If entry to a site is affected by changes in operating hours or public holiday closures, your itinerary, where possible, may be adjusted, or a similar activity will be offered in its place (subject to availability).

Shopping:
Shopping overseas can be a daunting and confusing experience, especially when there is a language barrier. Please be very cautious when foreign currencies and prices are involved. If paying by credit card, please pay close attention to the amount you are being charged and keep all your receipts.
Do not make any purchases you are not comfortable with or feel pressured into. If you are uncertain or need assistance with the language barrier, please seek assistance from your Tour Guide/Leader.
Please refer to our Terms and Conditions regarding shopping for further information.

Visas

United Kingdom
Beginning January 8, 2025, Australian passport holders will require an ETA to enter the United Kingdom.

Ireland
Australian passport holders are Visa exempt for a stay of up to 90 days. The traveller must hold a passport valid at least six months beyond the period of intended stay, with two blank visa pages

Important:
• Please start arranging your visa three weeks before departure to account for any delays due to consulate operating hours.
• Visa rules are subject to change. Please check with the nearest embassy, consulate or immigration department of the destination/s you are visiting once you receive your travel documentation to ensure you have the most up to date information.
• It is your responsibility to be travel-ready and ensure that you are aware and comply with any destination or travel requirements, including the validity of all required travel documents.
• Passengers who are not Australian citizens must also check with the respective consulate or visa agency to determine what their visa requirements are and what personal identification is required.
• It is also important to note that some areas of employment, such as journalism, government authorities and charity organisations, may have additional restrictions in applying for visas. This may, in turn, affect the type of application required.

Travel insurance

Embarking on your next trip is exciting, and while you hope the unexpected does not happen, it is best to be prepared. We strongly recommend you take out travel insurance when making your booking. Whether it’s a potential medical emergency, a flight cancellation, a delayed suitcase, or an unforeseen event, it's important to ensure you're adequately protected.
