Day 7 Auckland, New Zealand

Arrive: 06:30 - Depart: 19:00

Straddling a narrow isthmus created by 60 different volcanoes, New Zealand's former capital boasts scenic beauty, historical interest and a cosmopolitan collection of shops, restaurants, museums, galleries and gardens. Rangitoto, Auckland's largest and youngest volcano, sits in majestic splendor just offshore. Mt. Eden and One Tree Hill, once home to Maori earthworks, overlook the city. One of New Zealand's fine wine districts lies to the north of Auckland.

Auckland served as New Zealand's capital from 1841 until 1865, when the seat of government moved to Wellington.

A day in Auckland, New Zealand, offers a diverse range of activities and experiences. Visitors can venture to the Waitomo Caves, known for glow-worm-lit chambers and limestone formations, or visit the Otorohanga Kiwi House to see native kiwi birds. In the city, highlights include the Maritime Museum, War Memorial Museum, and Art Gallery, which showcase Auckland’s nautical heritage, cultural history, and visual arts. The iconic Sky Tower provides panoramic views of the Viaduct Harbour, Rangitoto Island, and the Waitakere Ranges. Mission Bay Beach offers a relaxing seaside experience, while Auckland Domain features scenic gardens set around an extinct volcano. The city’s culinary offerings reflect its agricultural and coastal abundance, emphasising fresh, local ingredients.

Day 8 Bay of Islands, New Zealand

Arrive: 07:00 - Depart: 16:00

The Bay of Islands offers more than broad vistas of sea and sky, more than beaches, boating, and fabulous water sports. The Bay is the birthplace of modern New Zealand. The Treaty of Waitangi was signed, establishing British rule and granting the native inhabitants equal status. Rich in legend and mystery, the Bay of Islands has age-old ties to the Maori, whalers, missionaries, and New Zealand's early settlers. The Bay of Islands has lured explorers for countless centuries. The Maori say Kupe, the great Polynesian adventurer, came here in the 10th century. Captain Cook anchored offshore in 1769, followed by assorted brigands, traders, colonists and missionaries.

Please note: This port is accessed by tender boats. Boarding and disembarking tender boats may involve steps and uneven surfaces. While cruise lines strive to provide ease of access, accessibility options can vary at different tender ports. Passengers with mobility concerns are encouraged to inquire about specific arrangements and consider their individual needs when participating in tendering activities.

Day 11 Suva, Fiji

Arrive: 08:00 - Depart: 23:59

The Fiji archipelago is at the crossroads of the South Pacific. In the days of sailing ships, it was known as "The Cannibal Isles," where mariners carefully avoided its fierce warriors and perfidious waters. Thankfully, Fiji's pagan days live only in the tales recalled by tour guides - in rituals such as firewalking, Kava Ceremonies and in renditions of tribal drumming, dance and song.

Fiji is an exotic destination, with 333 islands that provide an exciting adventure or peaceful repose. The northwest region, where the sun shines almost every day and a tropical shower ends as quickly as it began, is home to the majority of the resorts. Suva, the political, administrative, educational and commercial centre, has a backdrop of lush rainforest maintained by the inevitable "tropical downpour." The people of Fiji are some of the most multiracial and multicultural of all South Pacific island countries - this is reflected in churches of all denominations, mosques, temples and shrines.

Built around a reef-protected natural harbour, Suva, with its colonial buildings nestled alongside modern commercial venues, shops local markets, parks and residential sprawl, is home to nearly half of Fiji's urban population.

Overnight: Princess Cruises Grand Princess

Meals included: Breakfast; Lunch; Dinner

Day 12 Dravuni Island, Fiji

Arrive: 07:00 - Depart: 16:00

Less than four kilometres in length from north to south, Dravuni Island lies in the Kadavu Island group of Fiji. Its volcanic peaks give way to a remote village of just 200 or so friendly villagers who live amongst the island's shady palms. These welcoming locals and their children often sing to arriving visitors.

Well-worn trails scattered with coconuts snake around the unspoiled beaches, the soft sands beckoning underwater adventurers towards the crystal-clear waters. Many visitors come to snorkel in the Great Astrolabe Reef or to hike Dravuni Island's highest peak for magnificent once-in-a-lifetime views of the surrounding islands (optional excursion required).

Day 14 Apia, Samoa

Arrive: 09:00 - Depart: 18:00

The first Polynesians arrived in Samoa around 1000 B.C. Three millennia later, the islands formed one of the last bastions of traditional Polynesian culture. Apia, the capital of the Independent State of Samoa, is a city of 40,000 on the island of Upolu. Its picturesque waterfront is lined with public buildings, shops and trading companies. The town now comprises modern 3-5 story buildings all along the waterfront. The government has built some very modern buildings to house most of the government offices. The village settings can only be seen on the outskirts of town within a radius of 24 kilometres.

Samoa has long lured Westerners to its islands. The most famous expatriate of all was Robert Louis Stevenson, who lived at Vailima and was buried near the summit of Mt. Vaea.

Dress in light, comfortable clothing when visiting Apia. The dress code is quite casual. Shorts are appropriate for men. Dress for women is more conservative. The local women wear long skirts, dresses, lava lavas or muumuus.

Please note: Today you will cross the International Date Line. This day of the itinerary lasts for 48 hours or two nights on board as the clock goes back 24 hours.

Overnight: Princess Cruises Grand Princess

Meals included: Breakfast; Lunch; Dinner

Day 15 Cruising - The International Date Line

The International Date Line is an imaginary line extending from the North Pole to the South Pole through the Pacific Ocean. It serves as the 180th meridian of longitude and is used to designate the beginning of each calendar day.

As you know, each adjacent time zone on the map has an hour time difference. However, at the International Date Line, +12 hours and -12 hours meet, bringing about a 24-hour time change. When your ship crosses to the west it's one day later; if your ship crosses to the east, you've gone back a day.

Crossing the International Date Line has long been a rite of passage for sailors, who often must participate in a line-crossing ceremony to become part of the sacred "Order of the Golden Dragon", an honorary naval fraternity.

Day 17 Tahiti (Papeete), French Polynesia

Arrive: 08:00 - Depart: 23:00

Papeete, the beating heart of French Polynesia, dances to the rhythm of island life while embracing modernity. Set against the backdrop of Tahiti's emerald mountains and azure waters, this bustling capital city captivates with its fusion of French flair and Polynesian culture.

With time at leisure, you could stroll through its vibrant markets, where the scent of exotic fruits mingles with the melodies of local musicians. Explore the historic sites, like the iconic Notre Dame Cathedral and the regal Presidential Palace, which reflect the city's colonial past.

Papeete's waterfront promenade beckons with its bustling marina, offering glimpses of luxurious yachts and traditional outrigger canoes bobbing in the harbour. Indulge in delectable French-Polynesian cuisine at waterfront cafes and fine dining establishments, where fresh seafood delights the palate (charges apply).

Yet amid the urban buzz, Papeete maintains its connection to nature, with lush parks and gardens providing tranquil retreats. Whether you're soaking up the sun on black sand beaches or immersing yourself in the vibrant local arts scene, Papeete invites you to experience the enchantment of the South Pacific with a touch of French sophistication.

Day 18 Mo'orea, French Polynesia

Arrive: 07:00 - Depart: 17:00

To discover the storied Polynesia of Melville, Gauguin and Michener, you have to travel to Tahiti's outer islands. Mo'orea, the former haunt of Tahitian royalty, is one such island where you still see fishermen paddling outrigger canoes, pareo-clad women strolling along the roads and children fishing from island bridges. Mo'orea is an island of vertiginous mountains - most of its 18,000 people live along the narrow coastal shelf. Behind tin-roofed wooden houses lie lush green mountains rushing up to fill the sky.

French Polynesia comprises some 130 islands, of which Tahiti is the best known. Just 19 kilometres across the lagoon from Tahiti lies Mo'orea.

Please note: This port is accessed by tender boats. Boarding and disembarking tender boats may involve steps and uneven surfaces. While cruise lines strive to provide ease of access, accessibility options can vary at different tender ports. Say "Aloha" to Honolulu. Home to nearly half a million people, Honolulu is Hawaii's state capital and only major city. The city of Honolulu and the island of Oahu offer a wealth of historic, cultural and scenic attractions. Waikiki Beach and Diamond Head are two of the city's enduring symbols. Pearl Harbor, the site of the USS Arizona Memorial and the "Punchbowl," are haunting reminders of the tragic events of December 7, 1941, when the Japanese surprise attack on Pearl Harbor forced America into World War II. Honolulu is also home to the historic Iolani Palace, the official residence of Hawaii's last royals. Beyond the city lie tropical rain forests, the Pali Lookout and the North Shore known for its surfing beaches. A draw card to visitors of all ages, from all corners of the globe, Honolulu's appeal ranges from its magnificent beaches, countless well-stocked shops, tempting restaurants and a multitude of historic, cultural and scenic attractions.

Day 25 Kahului, Hawaii

Arrive: 08:00 - Depart: 19:00

Spend a day at leisure in Kahului on the Hawaiian island of Maui.

Maui has always occupied a special place in the hearts of Hawaiians. The great warrior King Kamehameha, who united the islands under his rule, chose to make Lahaina his capital and Ka'anapali was once the favourite playground of Hawaiian royalty. And no wonder - Maui boasts stunning landscapes and superb beaches. Mt. Haleakala, a dormant volcano, rises 3048 metres above the Pacific Ocean. Once hailed as "The Valley of the Kings," Maui's Iao Valley is a tropical paradise dominated by the Needle, a volcanic monolith towering over the valley floor. Then there is Lahaina, once home to a royal court and a raucous port-of-call enjoyed by 19th-century Yankee whalers.
Haleakala means "The House of the Sun." To the Hawaiians, it appeared that the sun both rose from and set in the depths of its massive crater. Today, the centrepiece of Haleakala National Park, it is one of Maui's major attractions.

Day 31 Los Angeles, California

Arrive: 07:00 - Depart: 21:00

The City of Angels always hovers between dream and reality. Once a near-forgotten colonial outpost, the pueblo metamorphosed into an agrarian paradise before reinventing itself as a movie colony. Perhaps no other city owes so much to the technological innovations of the 20th century, from the automobile to the aeroplane. Little wonder that LA is often described as the "dream machine." In LA, reinvention is a way of life. Yet this talent for change has created a city with a rich ethnic diversity and a sizzling culture. LA is the source for trends that migrate across the country and then the world. Where else can you enjoy a Thai taco or munch on a kosher burrito? Or travel from downtown's high rises to the beaches of Malibu, shopping in Beverly Hills along the way?

Day 33 San Francisco, California, USA

Arrive: 07:00 - Depart: 16:00

Cable cars, the Golden Gate rising from the fog - welcome to San Francisco, arguably the most romantic and cosmopolitan city in the United States. San Francisco has it all: a colourful history, superb restaurants, sophisticated museums, world-class shopping, and that elusive air of romance and abandon that's part of the tang of the city.

San Francisco offers a variety of activities and landmarks for visitors. Alcatraz Island provides a glimpse into its history as a lighthouse, Civil War fortress, infamous federal prison, and bird sanctuary. The Golden Gate Bridge, a globally recognized architectural marvel, connects the city to the scenic north, where Muir Woods National Monument showcases towering coastal redwoods. Nearby, the waterfront town of Sausalito features art galleries, historic charm, and stunning bay views.

Back in the city, Pier 39 at Fisherman's Wharf is a hub for dining, shopping, and viewing sea lions, with panoramic vistas of Alcatraz and the Golden Gate. Wine enthusiasts can explore the renowned Sonoma or Napa Valley regions, offering tours and tastings amid picturesque vineyards. The Cliff House, perched above the ocean, blends dining with historical intrigue, while Vista Point provides sweeping views of the Golden Gate Bridge and the Bay.

Day 35 Victoria, Canada

Arrive: 15:00 - Depart: 23:30

Victoria exudes old-world charm and fragrant, colourful flowers are everywhere. Founded in 1843 by James Douglas of the Hudson's Bay Company, the city was first known as Fort Victoria. By 1848, Vancouver Island was a British colony and Victoria was its capital.

In 1858, Victoria was a tent city and the base for some 25,000 prospectors on their way to the Frasier River gold fields. When Vancouver Island was incorporated with mainland British Columbia in 1868, Victoria became the capital of the entire province.

Although it's a port city, Victoria is not as industrially oriented as Vancouver. The harbours, especially Inner Harbour, are dotted with pleasure craft, ferries and floatplanes. The city is renowned for its beautiful gardens, charming houses and very British feel.

Day 36 Vancouver, Canada

Arrive: 07:00 - Depart: 16:00

It seems unlikely that a character named "Gassy Jack" Deighton would be responsible for one of the most beautiful cities on the continent. But that's history for you.

During the gold rush, Gassy Jack saw a chance to make money from the hordes of miners on their way to the Yukon. The saloon he built became the focus of the shanty town known as Gastown. From that ragtag group of shacks, modern Vancouver was born. The provincial government persuaded settlers to change the name of the town to Vancouver, after Captain George Vancouver, sailed the region's waters in 1792.

Vancouver is a cosmopolitan place with a European feel and a personality all its own. It's a community with a rich ethnic mix - including one of the largest Chinatowns in North America - and stunningly beautiful parks.

Day 38 Wrangell, Alaska, USA

Arrive: 07:00 - Depart: 16:00

Enjoy a day at leisure in Wrangell.

Wrangell, Alaska, offers visitors a mix of history, nature, and outdoor adventure. The Stikine River, one of the last great wilderness rivers in North America, provides opportunities for jet boat tours, kayaking, and wildlife viewing. Petroglyph Beach State Historic Park features ancient rock carvings left by early Indigenous peoples, alongside scenic beach views. Wrangell Museum highlights the area's Tlingit heritage, Russian influence, and gold rush history. Anan Wildlife Observatory offers a rare chance to view bears fishing for salmon in their natural habitat. The nearby LeConte Glacier, the southernmost tidewater glacier in North America, is accessible via boat tours, showcasing dramatic ice formations and calving events. For hikers, the Rainbow Falls Trail and Mount Dewey Trail provide stunning views of the surrounding rainforest and coastline.

Day 39 Juneau, Alaska

Arrive: 09:00 - Depart: 21:00

In 1880, it was slow going for Joe Juneau and Richard Harris as they searched for gold with the help of Native guides. After climbing mountains, forging streams and facing countless difficulties, they found nuggets "as large as beans."
From their discovery came three of the largest gold mines in the world. By the end of World War II, more than $150 million in gold had been mined. Eventually, the mines closed, but the town Joe Juneau founded became the capital of Alaska and the business of gold was replaced by the business of government.

Today Juneau is famous not only for gold and government but also for its breathtakingly beautiful glaciers and stunning views of both water and mountains.

Day 40 Hubbard Glacier (Scenic Cruising), Alaska

Nicknamed the "Galloping Glacier," this east Alaskan glacier is rapidly advancing toward the Gulf of Alaska into a pristine area known as Disenchantment Bay. Its movement temporarily formed a natural dam that twice closed off nearby Russell Fjord from the bay, but the intense water pressure building within the fjord-turned-lake has thus far been enough to explode through the wall of ice.

The largest tidewater glacier in North America, Hubbard Glacier measures 122 kilometres long and plunges 365 metres into the depths of the bay. Its immense beauty and phenomenal blue hues are enchanting, even from afar. But it's when your cruise ship draws closer that its towering surface impresses, dwarfing even the uppermost deck on your ship at a whopping 40 stories high. There, with the snowcapped mountains serving as a glorious backdrop, you'll have a prime viewing spot from which to witness the glacier calving, as it often expels icebergs the size of 10-story buildings-imagine the splash!

The area around Hubbard Glacier is also renowned for its wildlife, where whales, harbour seals and otters swim, brown bears, moose and black-tailed deer roam ashore, and a wide variety of seabirds soar gracefully across the sky.

Please note: Your ship will not dock on this day.

Overnight: Princess Cruises Grand Princess

Meals included: Breakfast; Lunch; Dinner

Day 41 College Fjord (Scenic Cruising), Alaska

Discovered in the northwest corner of Prince William Sound during an 1899 research expedition, spectacular College Fjord and its glaciers were named after prestigious East Coast schools by the college professors who first laid eyes upon their majesty. Stretching for kilometres, these massive rivers of ice tumble down from mountains and through valleys, dipping into the pristine waters of the fjord. There you'll have a chance to watch the awe-inspiring process of glaciers calving, or dropping enormous pillars of ice into the sea, as they crack and land with a thunderous splash – a once-in-a-lifetime experience not to be missed!

College Fjord not only boasts the world's largest collection of tidewater glaciers, but it also features magnificent snowcapped mountains as far as the eyes can see. Plus, during the summer, it's not unheard of to catch a glimpse of one of the area's 40-ton humpback whales feeding in the waters of the fjord.

It's a magical wonderland of epic proportions, so breathtaking you won't want to blink!

Please note: Your ship will not dock on this day.

Overnight: Princess Cruises Grand Princess

Day 42 Anchorage (Whittier), Alaska

Arrive: 00:30 - Depart: 17:00

Whittier, approximately 100 kilometres southeast of Anchorage, lies nestled at the base of the Chugach Mountains bordering Passage Canal. Established as a World War II port for cargo and troops of the Alaska Command, Whittier remained activated until 1960. Today, Whittier's economy and its 290 residents rely largely on the fishing industry, the port and, increasingly, on tourism.

Once accessible only by boat or via a war-era railway tunnel, The Anton Anderson Memorial Tunnel was recently enhanced to accommodate highway traffic as well, making it the longest highway/rail tunnel in North America at 4 kilometres.

Day 45 Cruising (Crossing the International Date Line)

Day 52 Tokyo, Japan

Arrive: 06:30 - Depart: 20:00

Contemporary Tokyo may be the most astonishing city on earth. It's a paradoxical mix of ancient tradition and postmodern culture. The Ginza, an international shopping mecca, stands near the serene grounds of the Imperial Palace, and the hyper-speed of 21st-century consumerism is mysteriously reconciled with the elegance and serenity of traditional culture. Tokyo provides the traveller with a dizzying experience.

Day 53 Shimizu (for Mt. Fuji), Japan

Arrive: 07:00 - Depart: 14:00

A mesmerizing landscape, a revered cultural history, and Japan's most sacred volcano are just a few of the many delights beckoning you to come and explore this ancient city. While Shimizu may have a reputation as being bustling and modern, its cultural and spiritual side is on display in the form of ancient and enthralling shrines. Of course, it may be the sacred and snow-capped Mount Fuji that garners the most attention. Towering over the region at approximately 3,776 metres above sea level, the active volcano, designated a "place and source of artistic inspiration" by UNESCO is just one of the many unforgettable adventures Shimizu inspires.

Please note: Views of Mount Fuji from Shimizu are weather permitting.

Day 54 Osaka (for Kyoto), Japan

Arrive: 09:00 - Depart: 21:00

For centuries, Osaka was Japan's cultural and commercial gateway to Asia - the point of entry both for trade goods and, most importantly, cultural influences that shaped Japanese society. From tea to Zen, from art to science and philosophy, Osaka was Japan's contact with the great East Asian cultures that flourished in China and Korea. The city reached its zenith in the late 16th century when the great feudal lord Toyotomi Hideyoshi made Osaka his capital. Toyotomi was the master of Japan, and an immense administrative and commercial centre rapidly developed around Osaka Castle. After Toyotomi's death, the nation's seat of power shifted from Osaka to a sleepy little fishing village called Edo - modern Tokyo. While overshadowed by Tokyo, Osaka remains one of Japan's largest cities and a vital commercial centre.

Modern Osaka is home to monuments from Japan's past including Toyotomi's immense castle and the Sumiyoshi Shrine. The city is also your gateway to Kyoto, Japan's ancient imperial capital and the nation's cultural and spiritual centre.

Day 55 Kochi, Japan

Arrive: 07:00 - Depart: 15:00

Kochi sits on the broad alluvial plain facing Urado Bay. This city in Shikoku takes its name from the great feudal castle that sits at its very heart. Completed in 1611, Kochi Castle was the seat of Yamauchi Kazutoyo, a noted warrior who supported Tokugawa Ieyasu in his successful quest to become Shogun. Tosa Province and Kochi Castle were Yamauchi's reward for faithful service. There is a historical irony here: 250 years later, a Kochi native son - a former low-ranked samurai and now ronin named Sakamoto Ryoma - played a pivotal role in bringing the Tokugawa Shogunate to an end and restoring the Emperor of Japan to political prominence. The prize once awarded for faithful service had become a hotbed of support for the Meiji Restoration.

Kochi is one of the wettest places in Japan - and a frequent target for cyclonic storms or typhoons. Southeast of the city, warm ocean currents washing against the Aki Mountains create a subtropical landscape of hibiscus, palm and ficus at Muroto-Anan Quasi-National Park.

Day 56 Kagoshima, Japan

Arrive: 09:00 - Depart: 18:00

From the 12th century to the Meiji Restoration of 1868, Kagoshima was the chief stronghold of the mighty Shimazu clan. The city lies at the top of the Satsuma Peninsula, a mountainous, geothermal wonderland of hot springs and geysers. The area is also rich in modern Japanese history: Saigo Takamori and the Satsuma samurai were leaders of the Meiji Restoration that toppled the shogun and restored the Emperor to power in 1868. In 1877, dissatisfied with the direction of the new government, Saigo led the Satsuma Rebellion, which ended in his death and the final defeat of the samurai.

The symbol of Kagoshima is Sakura Jima - the volcanic island that sits just offshore. The volcano has erupted over 30 times in recorded history.

Day 58 Ishigaki, Japan

Arrive: 08:00 - Depart: 18:00

The balmy, subtropical climate draws countless visitors to its sandy shores, but Ishigaki offers much more than your typical island getaway. It is the cultural, political and economic centre of the Yaeyama Islands, originally founded in 1908 as Yaeyama Village and becoming Ishigaki Town in 1926. Ishigaki was elevated to city status on July 10, 1947. A hilltop Shinto shrine that dates back to 1614 is the perfect place to start your exploration of this lovely town. Noted for its white-sand beaches and turquoise waters to which snorkelers flock for a glimpse of the island's famed manta rays, Ishigaki Island offers many opportunities to commune with nature. Ishigaki has palm forests, mangrove-lined rivers suited for kayaking, and jungle-covered mountains perfect for hiking adventures. Amidst such natural beauty, you'll find an abundance of cultural sites with ties to the island's rich history. The Yaeyama Museum displays historic artifacts as well as traditional cultural items, and a visit to the well-preserved Miyara Dunchi, built in 1819, is a rare example of a samurai-style residence (entry fees may apply). Be sure to leave time in your busy day to purchase some of the sweet island pineapple and to shop for the island's famed black pearls, a most special souvenir.

Day 59 Taipei (Keelung), Taiwan

Arrive: 07:00 - Depart: 19:00

The oldest Chinese reference to Taiwan dates back to the Han Dynasty in the 3rd century B.C. However, it wasn't until the 17th century A.D. that Chinese Hakka traders first settled on the island. These bold merchants were soon followed by European and Asian adventurers seeking to control and colonize the strategic island. The most famous migration of all occurred in 1948 when the government of the Republic of China fled the mainland.

Taipei is one of the world's most important commercial centres. Despite its turbulent history, Taiwan today boasts an economy that is the envy of the world. Modern Taiwan is a world leader in the production of bicycles, computer chips, plastics, chemicals and computer notebooks. Taipei is a sophisticated modern metropolis that has not forgotten its rich traditional past.

The port of Keelung is your gateway to Taiwan. Visit the bustling city of Taipei and other interesting areas surrounding this fascinating island in the East China Sea.

Please note: Keelung is approximately 30 kilometres from Taipei.

Day 61 Hong Kong, China

Arrive: 07:00 - Overnight

Skyscrapers form a glistening forest of steel and glass, junks and sampans ply the busy harbour waters and the green, dragon-crested hills of Kowloon beckon. Welcome to Hong Kong, one of the world's great travel destinations. Now a semi-autonomous region of China, Hong Kong - literally "Fragrant Harbor" - has lost none of its charm, excitement or exoticism. Modern skyscrapers and luxury hotels climb the slopes of Hong Kong Island. Narrow streets are crammed with noodle vendors, fortunetellers and bonesetters. The endless array of shops offers the visitor everything from hand-tailored suits and ancient porcelain to the latest consumer electronics. And everywhere more than seven million people are moving at a breathtaking pace in one of the world's great monuments to capitalism, commerce and enterprise.

The former Crown Colony has enough attractions to last a lifetime. To take in the entire spectacle, head to Victoria Peak for panoramic views. Enjoy lunch at one of the city's floating restaurants (not included). Walk down one of the crowded streets to take the city's rapid pulse. And whether you think you are in the mood or not - shop. After all, you are in the duty-free capital of the world.

Day 65 Ho Chi Minh City (Phu My), Vietnam

Arrive: 07:00 - Depart: 18:00

Over four decades have passed since the Vietnam War ended with the fall of Saigon. Today, the name of this bustling metropolis on the Mekong River is Ho Chi Minh City. Yet, the essence of the city, a major trading centre since the 18th century, remains unchanged. The air is filled with the cries of street hawkers and honking horns. Bicycles, motorbikes and automobiles fly down the boulevards at dizzying speeds. And everywhere, friendly faces and warm greetings meet you.
The port of Phu My (pronounced "Foo Me") is your gateway to Ho Chi Minh City and the seaside resort of Vung Tau.

Day 67 Singapore

Arrive: 08:00 - Depart: 23:59

Singapore - the very name summons visions of the mysterious East. The commercial centre of Southeast Asia, this island city-state of five million people is a metropolis of modern high-rise buildings, Chinese shop-houses with red-tiled roofs, sturdy Victorian buildings, Buddhist temples and Arab bazaars. Founded in 1819 by Sir Stamford Raffles of the fabled East India Company, the city is a melting pot of people and cultures. Malay, Singaporean Mandarin, English and Tamil are official languages. Buddhism, Taoism, Islam, Hinduism and Christianity are the major faiths. Singapore is an ever-fascinating island boasting colourful traditions, luxurious hotels and some of the finest duty-free shopping in the world.

Lying just 140 kilometres north of the Equator at the tip of the Malay Peninsula, the island was a haven for Malay pirates and Chinese and Arab traders.

Day 71 Bali (Benoa), Indonesia

Arrive: 07:00 - Depart: 18:00

For over a century, Bali has fascinated the Western imagination. The island embodies the very essence of the exotic and mysterious East. Steep hillsides of tropical green reveal terraced rice paddies while plantations of coffee, banana, cacao and fragrant spices line the roads. Monkeys haunt the grounds of a sacred temple in a forest, while traditional villages produce intricately stylized batik, superb jewellery and beautiful paintings. And Balinese dance, with its angular movements and rhythms, remains somehow stirring and shocking. Bali may be accessible, but it remains forever exotic.

For all of Bali's scenic beauty, the island has weathered great natural disasters, from the 1963 eruption of Mt. Agung to a massive earthquake in 1976. The island emerged relatively unscathed from the great tsunami of 2004.

Please note: This port is accessed by tender boats. Boarding and disembarking tender boats may involve steps and uneven surfaces. While cruise lines strive to provide ease of access, accessibility options can vary at different tender ports. Day 74 Darwin, Australia

Arrive: 07:00 - Depart: 22:00

Closer to Indonesia than to any other Australian city, Darwin is the capital of the "Top End" - the remote, vast Northern Territory. Home to more than half of the territory's population, the city reflects the rugged endurance and individualism required to survive the Outback. Darwin also boasts a colourful history to add to that heritage. During World War II the Japanese bombed the city and threatened invasion. In 1974, Cyclone Tracy cut a destructive swath through the region. In addition, man-eating crocodiles, tropical monsoons, searing heat and bushfires that burn for weeks are all part of everyday life.

You can apply for a 90 day Visitor Permit on arrival using the passenger arrival card if you: stay less than 90 days, visit for tourism, have confirmed return or onward ticket, have enough funds to support yourself, have a passport that's valid for at least 6 months beyond your intended stay.

French Polynesia
Passengers travelling on an Australian passport do not require a visa for stays up to 90 days per 180 days. The traveller must hold a passport valid for at least six months beyond the period of intended stay with one blank visa page.

United States of America
Australian passport holders must obtain an “ESTA” visa waiver in order to enter or transit in the United States.
Please note: You may be required to obtain a visa if you do not meet the eligibility requirements of the ESTA program. Please see https://esta.cbp.dhs.gov for full eligibility requirements and applications.

Canada
Australian and New Zealand passport holders must apply for an electronic travel authorisation (eTA) before travelling to Canada by air. An Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA) is an entry requirement for visa-exempt foreign nationals travelling to Canada by air. An eTA is electronically linked to a traveller’s passport. It is valid for up to five years or until the passport expires, whichever comes first. If you get a new passport, you need to get a new eTA. If travelling by car, bus, train or boat (including a cruise ship), you don’t need an ETA or a visitor visa, but you do need to bring the correct travel documents.

Japan
Australian passport holders are visa-exempt for a stay of up to 90 days when travelling as a tourist.

Taiwan
Australian passport holders are visa-exempt for a stay of up to 90 days. The traveller must hold a valid passport valid for at least 6 months on entry with 1 blank visa page.

Vietnam
Australian passport holders are eligible to apply online for an electronic visa (e-visa), valid for up to a maximum of 30 days. Lodge your application online (for a non-refundable fee) with the Vietnamese National Web Portal of Immigration. You will be given a unique code to track your visa application status. Once your visa is granted, you must print it out and present it at check-in. Keep this e-visa printout with you at all times during your travel in Vietnam.

Hong Kong
Australian passport holders are visa-exempt for a stay of up to 90 days. The traveller must hold a valid passport valid for at least 6 months on entry with 2 blank visa pages.

Singapore
A visa is not required for Australian Passport holders. All travellers must submit a Health Declaration via the SG Arrival Card E-Service up to 72 hours before arrival in Singapore.

Indonesia
Australian passport holders are eligible to apply for an e-Visa on Arrival (e-VOA) no later than 48 hours prior to travelling to Indonesia if you are travelling for tourism, business meetings, purchasing goods or transiting only. Check the e-VOA requirements from Indonesian Immigration before applying. You can still apply for a regular Visa on Arrival (VOA) at certain international airports, seaports and land crossings, including Jakarta, Bali, Surabaya, Makassar, Lombok, Batam, Medan, Manado, Aceh, Padang, Tanjung Pinang and Yogyakarta, if you do not apply for an e-VOA at least 48 hours in advance of your travel to Indonesia.

Important:
• Please start arranging your visa three weeks before departure to account for any delays due to consulate operating hours.
• Visa rules are subject to change. Please check with the nearest embassy, consulate or immigration department of the destination/s you are visiting once you receive your travel documentation to ensure you have the most up to date information.
• It is your responsibility to be travel-ready and ensure that you are aware and comply with any destination or travel requirements, including the validity of all required travel documents.
• Passengers who are not Australian citizens must also check with the respective consulate or visa agency to determine what their visa requirements are and what personal identification is required.
• It is also important to note that some areas of employment, such as journalism, government authorities and charity organisations, may have additional restrictions in applying for visas. This may, in turn, affect the type of application required.
