Overview

Sail in true luxury from South America through the Pacific, hopping from one exotic island to the next on this exciting 26-day itinerary from Chile to Tahiti.

Start your experience in Santiago, Chile’s capital. Surrounded by the Andes Mountains, Santiago is a cosmopolitan city with a marked South American flavour.

Board the Seabourn Pursuit for a sailing experience marked by luxury and indulge with complimentary premium spirits, fine wines and caviar at all times at sea. Enjoy complimentary dining at all five onboard venues. Two custom-built submarines (additional fees may apply), 24 Zodiacs, kayaks, and a 24-person Expedition Team allow guests to engage in up-close wildlife encounters and enriching cultural experiences throughout the cruise. Plus, stay connected with complimentary Wi-Fi powered by SpaceX's Starlink.

This itinerary’s destinations are as remote and exciting as they come. Start in Juan Fernandez archipelago, a national park off the coast of Chile that is a haven for wildlife lovers in a pristine setting. Here, volcanic landscapes offer biodiversity richer than the Galapagos, including fur seals, Magellanic penguins and forecrown hummingbirds.

Next, stop overnight in Rapa Nui – or Easter Island. A territory of Chile, this small island is a trove of cultural wealth. Inhabited by the Rapa Nui people, it’s famous for its nearly 900 monumental statues called Moais. The island also features gorgeous tropical beaches like Anakena, plus a quarry where the Moais were carved from, a fascinating place called Rano Raraku.

The Pitcairn Islands, a British territory, is as remote as it is full of history. Over three days, visit the first two islands, Ducie and Henderson, atolls surrounded by azure waters with pristine beaches and abundant marine life. Next, visit Adamstown, the final home of the mutineers from the HMS Bounty in 1790. The 50 people who live there today are descendants of the mutineers and Tahitians.

French Polynesia awaits after a couple of days at sea. Start in Toau, a coral atoll virtually untouched by humans. It encloses a 561 km2 lagoon where locals farm pearls while visitors relax at the beach and explore its underwater coral gardens. Picturesque Anaa also offers an island experience where it is possible to meet the locals by visiting Tuuhora village.

Disembark in Papeete, French Polynesia's capital city, where “roulottes’ – or food carts – offer delicious traditional fare every evening. Spend leisure time in the Faa’a area, where you could visit famous Bain Lot Beach, the Robert Wan Pearl Museum or check out the red spire atop Notre Dame Cathedral, before catching your flight home.

This fantastic package includes return international full-service flights; a 20-night Seabourn cruise; 4 nights of hotel accommodation; 63 meals, including all meals, complimentary caviar, premium spirits & fine wines while cruising, plus unlimited Wi-Fi powered by SpaceX's  Starlink, Signature Events, Zodiac tours and landings and more.

Tailor your itinerary with extra days pre and post-cruise in South America or Tahiti.

Arrives 07:00 - Departs 12:00
Tender by zodiac.

Toau, French Polynesia
Arrives 14:30 - Departs 18:30
Tender by zodiac.

The 77 Tuamotus (the name means “Distant Islands” in Polynesian) comprise the largest chain of coral atolls on earth. They sprawl across the vast blue South Pacific Ocean, encompassing an area the size of Western Europe. Atolls are the skeletal remains of coral reefs, forming rings of crushed coral sand surrounding a shallow central lagoon. The natural flora and fauna of the Oceanic realm are adapted to this environment, and UNESCO designates Fakarava’s large lagoon as a Biosphere Reserve. The people of Fakarava farm coconuts for copra on shore and pearls in the lagoons. They also host travellers who flock to bask on the beaches and snorkel or dive in the luxuriant coral gardens along the coast. At the long spit of Les Sables Roses, the pink blush of the sand reveals its coral origin. The sleepy towns of Rotoava and Tetamanu offer scant attractions for visitors, except for their distinctive rock lighthouses shaped like stepped pyramids. Tetamanu boasts a 19th-century church built of coral rock by missionaries and an adjoining cemetery with coral rock headstones. Aside from snorkelling or beach-basking, some visitors enjoy a visit to a lagoon pearl farm to see how the large, flat bivalves are coaxed into creating the treasured gems formed by the lustrous nacre inside their shells.

Overnight: Seabourn "Seabourn Pursuit"

Meals included: Breakfast; Lunch; Dinner

Day 22 Anaa, French Polynesia

Arrives 07:00 - Departs 14:00

  • Music and dance performance with time to explore.

Anaa is a small atoll in the Tuamotu Islands of French Polynesia. Known for its friendly people and its stunningly beautiful lagoon, Anaa is a lovely place to visit. The exterior of the atoll has beautiful coral and a variety of fish life. The interior of the atoll is calm and perfect for a comfortable swim. The community of Tuuhora has a population of around 350 people. Much of the island's current economy is based on copra production, but several initiatives have been introduced to create more opportunities for sustainable tourism. These initiatives will hopefully create a more stable population of fish and will create local jobs and opportunities for the community.

Other important information

TOUR GUIDE VS. TOUR LEADER
Tour Guide:
Often locals with intimate knowledge of an area, its culture, and history. Their role entails providing commentary, routing the tour, and seeing that people have a good time. They are a licensed, qualified expert who supplies specific information on the history, art, architecture and culture of the city/village/attraction where they are guiding the tour. The guide meets the group at the required place and leaves it at the end of the tour; they do not travel with the group.

Tour Leader:
An experienced person tasked with ensuring the smooth operation of tours, as well as providing practical support to passengers throughout the whole trip. Their role primarily includes assisting with accommodation, transportation between locations, and communication with tour guides at each stop. A tour leader may provide general guidance around a city or village and offer information on the place visited on the bus. However, they are not required to have specific art, architecture, or historical knowledge. They are not allowed to provide a guided tour or commentary of a city/village/attraction once there and, if caught doing so, can be fined.

Please note: Tour leaders/guides are not a standard inclusion in all travel offers. Tour leaders/guides will only be made available when required to enhance the experience of the destination featured.
