Day 1 Arrive Norfolk Island

Today, make your own way to Norfolk Island.

Note: This itinerary has been crafted to suit the flight scheduling from Brisbane to Norfolk Island (and return). Please note, flights are not included in this package and should be purchased separately.

Upon arrival at Norfolk Island Airport, you will be greeted by a tour representative and transferred by coach to the Aloha Apartments, situated in the heart of Burnt Pine; Norfolk’s shopping and café district. The supermarket, cafes, restaurants and clubs are only a minute’s walk from the front entrance, while set in private landscaped grounds. Stay in a Standard 1 Bedroom Apartment which features a lounge room, kitchen, verandah, bathroom with shower cabin and a bedroom with either 1 King Bed or 2 Single Beds. If available, why not upgrade to the recently renovated and spacious 1 Bedroom Deluxe Apartment (subject to availability).

The rest of the afternoon and evening is at your leisure.You may choose to take a swim in one of the unique beaches before stocking up on some essentials from the local supermarket. Alternatively in the evening you may opt to participate in the Bounty Show & Dinner.

Enjoy a night of feasting, frivolity and laughter as you witness an amazing world famous interactive dinner show recounting the story of life that led to the Mutiny on The Bounty from England to Tahiti. Indulge in a 3-course dinner as the cast of this amazing feature show will have you enthralled as you sail with Captain Bligh and the Mutineers from the famous Bounty. The show will start at approximately 18:00 and you will need to make your own way to the theatre restaurant. Final confirmation of times will be available in your Travel Pack 4-6 weeks prior to your departure.

Day 2 Island Orientation Tour

This morning you will be collected from your hotel for a half-day introductory tour of Norfolk Island. Travel by coach with a local guide to view some of the historical sites of Norfolk Island. Learn a brief history and the culture on Norfolk Island. You’ll discover the natural beauty of Norfolk Island spanning over 34km2. You'll also receive tickets to visit Cyclorama from your tour guide.

Please note: You can visit the Cyclorama on any day of the week, except for Thursdays. One of Norfolk Island's most popular attractions. Bringing to life the history of the Bounty Mutiny and the Norfolk Island people, this stunning 360˚ panoramic painting surrounds you with impressive and realistic artwork.

After the tour, you’ll be returned back to your hotel, where the remainder of your afternoon will be spent at leisure. Why not explore the island's many natural wonders by taking a beautiful hike around the National Park and if you’re feeling a bit more adventurous, you can even go mountain bike riding!

Day 3 Taste of Norfolk & Baunti Fish Fry

Today, you will have time at leisure to explore Norfolk. Enjoy breakfast at one of the many cafes in town or stock up at the local market and cook yourself a fresh breakfast using local Norfolk Island produce.

At 13:00, you will be collected and meet first hand some passionate local producers. Taste and discover the fascinating history of Norfolk Island liqueurs, producing 15 liqueurs, rum, and whiskey from mostly local ingredients. Visit a local beekeeper where you will view flow hives and learn about the fascinating local honey bees on Norfolk Island as well as a tasting of the honey with seasonal fruit. Meet a local host making sea salt from the oceans that surround this beautiful island and taste the local beef with the salt, and something sweet!

Then onto a cooking demonstration and tasting of traditional dishes handed down by Tahitian foremothers, such as green banana fritters flavoured with local honey, or a similar dish, depending on the seasons.

You’ll be returned to your hotel this afternoon before being collected from your hotel and taken to a beautiful clifftop to enjoy a glamorous picnic and an eagle-eyed view of the tiny crescent-shaped beach and the magnificent spread of ocean stretching to the far horizon, to experience the Baunti Fish Fry. You’ll enjoy fresh, local fish prepared the local way and accompanied with a range of seasonal island dishes including those passed down from Norfolk’s Polynesian foremothers. Day 4 Day at Leisure & Progressive Dinner

Enjoy a morning at leisure! Norfolk Island may be small, but there are so many things to do while you’re here!

If relaxing is more your thing, there are plenty of beaches to go to for a refreshing dip in the South Pacific. Emily Bay is one of the safest beaches in the world. Boasting sparkling crystal-clear water, this beach is perfect for a snorkelling adventure. You can also go into town and have a nice relaxing day in one of the many cafes and restaurants or shop at the local boutiques on the island.

Later in the afternoon, you’ll be collected from your hotel at 18:00 and experience dinner at a lovely Norfolk Island home. Relax and enjoy home-cooked food, bursting with the goodness of free island produce. Chat with your fellow diners and soak up the stories of your local hosts. A complimentary glass of wine or juice will be provided with your main course as well as tea and coffee served with dessert. You are also welcome to BYO if you wish. After dinner you will transferred back to the hotel for the remainder of your evening.

They maintained their privacy to ensure Colleen had the perfect environment for her writing. Some of the more noteworthy, for instance, include “Tim”, “The Thornbirds” and “Morgan’s Run”. So, if you have read her amazing books, you will love the experience of sharing her world on the Colleen McCullough Tour.

Today, at approximately 13:00 you’ll be picked up from the hotel and taken on the Norfolk Island Culture tour, which is an immersion in Norfolk Island’s rich cultural heritage, showcasing the diverse influences from Polynesian and Tahitian ancestors to Bounty Mutineer forefathers, as well as early settlers like American Indians, African-Americans, Irish, English, Sami and New Zealand Maori.

You will explore an island home steeped in history, with artifacts passed down through generations, insights into local language, fishing, whaling, weaving, cooking and service to conflict. Bear witness to the many influences that have shaped Norfolk Island’s community today, emphasizing sustainability and harmony with the land and sea. CLIMATE & AVERAGE TEMPERATURES
Norfolk Island, located in the South Pacific Ocean, has a subtropical climate with mild temperatures throughout the year. The climate on Norfolk Island can be generally described as pleasant and moderate, making it a popular destination.

It is the wettest season with occasional heavy rainfall and thunderstorms

Autumn (March to May):

You will be responsible for all your personal belongings whilst on tour. You must carry your own luggage from the vehicle to the hotel room and back to the vehicle. The driver will assist with the uploading and unloading of bags from the vehicle.

This includes booking changes requested by you, including but not limited to those changes requiring an airline ticket or a Purchase Confirmation reissue.

Supplier Fees
In the event the tour package you have purchased is unable to proceed, and/or a travel Supplier is unable to fulfil the tour due to external circumstances (Limitation of Liability e.g. a Force Majeure event), there may be a fee or amount of money that is withheld by our Suppliers and is unrecoverable. This may be due to non-refundable airline tickets, cancellation penalties with cruise cabins or unrecoverable payments with our land/accommodation partners. If refunds are not available from Suppliers, we will endeavour to obtain a travel credit on the best terms available and communicate these outcomes to you. In the event we are unable to obtain a refund or travel service credit, or part thereof, this cost is passed on to the customer as a Supplier Fee.
