After breakfast at the hotel, you will travel north to Wilpattu where you'll check into Big Game Camping to tent in one of Sri Lanka's oldest national parks that's famous for its vast number of Sri Lankan Leopards. This afternoon, enjoy a wildlife safari through the national park. Apart from big cats and precious flora, the park is well known for its healthy population of elephants, sloth bears, spotted deer, mongoose and water buffalo. Don’t be surprised if you hear the squeal of a wild boar pierce your ears as Wilpattu National Park is well known for its close-quarters action so you might be presented with the thrill of the hunt.

After breakfast at the hotel, it’s time to travel to Sigiriya where you will visit the ancient Lion’s Rock Fortress of Sigiriya in the heart of Sri Lanka. The 5th-century rock citadel of King Kasyapa isn't just a testament to ancient Sri Lankan engineering and urban planning prowess, it's a true masterpiece of art and culture. As you step through the colossal 'Lion Paws' which gaze upon the meticulously designed royal gardens below, you will be transported back in time to an era of ancient wonders. This UNESCO-listed rock fortress, encircled by imposing ramparts and moats, is often likened to the mythical 'City of Gods'.
One of the most captivating features of Sigiriya is its stunning frescoes, reminiscent of the Gupta-style paintings found in the famous Ajanta caves of India. These ancient artworks adorn the rock's surface, offering a glimpse into the artistic brilliance of the past. Wander into the museum downstairs for an insight into how the citadel floated above citizens and learn about the advanced ponds and irrigation that pumped water right onto its summit through an ingenious hydraulic system.

Rising with the decline of Anuradhapura, the city of Polonnaruwa remains superior proof of ancient culture and heritage blended with religious beliefs. Walk among the scattered walls of this UNESCO World Heritage Site which is dotted with stupas, resting Buddha statues, irrigation canals and carved Hindu sculptures. As you stroll the mediaeval capital and crown jewel of King Parakramabahu I, take a moment to observe the relic house of Vatadage which boasts impressive stone carvings. Look closely, and you will notice a subtle Hindu influence on the architecture and statues found in Polonnaruwa.

Experience an afternoon safari at Minneriya National Park which is set to be a serious rumble in the jungle. Spread over 8,800 hectares, it's a sanctuary for elephants as well as being home to herds of deer and ample birdlife. The jeep will park on the bank of the reservoir and switch off its engine so you'll have the opportunity to see herds of elephants roll onto the grass-covered banks to feed on tender shoots. This is the largest elephant gathering in the world (over 300 at a time) so it's an absolute must-do for wildlife enthusiasts.

After breakfast at the hotel, you'll proceed to Dambulla to visit the famed Dambulla Rock Temple. In the city of Dambulla lies a hub that has been treasured by many kings since the 1st century B.C. Today, an icon in the face of Sri Lanka, Dambulla Rock Temple houses some of the most unique drawings in magnificently constructed five cave temples flanking the golden temple of Dambulla. Observe how exquisite cave paintings along the walls shelter 150 statues of Lord Buddha and take a moment to look straight up at the gigantic Buddha statue glittering in gold, an important junction in the country's economic and cultural uplifting.
Afterwards, you'll travel to the hill city of Kandy and check into the hotel. As evening falls, you'll enjoy a tour of Kandy City. Last ruled by King Sri Wickrama Rajasinghe before it was brought under British rule in 1815, Kandy is the last royal capital of Sri Lankan kings and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site that celebrates its culture, history and heritage. As you stroll across this small lakeside town to the Kandy City Centre, you'll find world-class brands, a bazaar, an arts & crafts centre, a gem museum and a lapidary. Make sure to take in the dazzling colours as you glide through fresh fruits and vegetables in the Kandy market.

After breakfast, you'll depart for Nuwara Eliya which is Sri Lanka’s highest town and the heart of the country’s most beautiful region. In the southern hill country, Nuwara Eliya sits beneath the towering Pidurutalagala mountain in a bowl of verdant, tea-covered hills. Although the region was once occupied by the Kandyan kingdom, the town itself is of British creation as it was established in the mid-19th century as a retreat by Sir Edward Barnes.
Upon arrival in the afternoon, take a tour of a local tea plantation and learn about the tea production process of the prestigious Ceylon Tea brand. As you observe the hissing and swishing of machines, inhale the heavenly scent arising from these facilities and make sure to end your tour in style over a perfectly blended cup of pure Ceylon tea. Afterwards, enjoy time to explore the plantation at leisure before continuing onwards to enjoy some free time in Nuwara Eliya or an optional tour of the Moon Plains.

The Moon Plains used to be a part of a catchment area as a 400-metre-long and 30-metre-deep valley until the late 1990s. The scenery is so beautiful that you feel like you are in a different world. Today you'll take a packed breakfast from the hotel and proceed to visit Horton Plains. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is a trekker's paradise and eco-tourism hideout in the heart of the isle. Painted with unending stretches of green pastures, it marks one of the healthiest wet montane evergreen forests in Sri Lanka. With an altitude above 2000 metres, the plateau sweeps to a robust 3169 hectares, sheltering flora and fauna varieties that may be found nowhere else on Earth. As the tributary of Belihuloya, Bakers Falls, thunders down rocks, you'll head along the 9-kilometre trekking path across frost-covered grass to feel the icy-cold wind against your face. You may even gaze down World's End, a head-spinning 1,100-metre drop towards the southern end or drive carefully through herds of sambar deer, shy to human touch and birdlife chirping across the plains. If you're cautious enough you may be greeted by the sights of a grunting wild boar, a pouncing fishing cat, otters or even the Sri Lankan Leopard!
Afterwards, you'll return to the hotel where you'll be collected in the afternoon to commence sightseeing in Nuwara Eliya. Get your camera ready as you wind down misty steep roads that twist through lush green blankets of tea bushes in a cool climate. Augmented by an English countryside atmosphere, the city of light is studded with colonial bungalows, hedgerows and one of the finest 18-hole golf courses in the world. A hike through the green grass and red brick walls should present breathtaking views of a buzzing countryside hamlet. Enjoy driving through the green valleys of the hill country that are pierced by endless waterfalls and dotted by tea pluckers draped in bright-coloured saris, or rent a bike for a gentle ride along the banks splashed by the waters of Lake Gregory before returning to the hotel.

After breakfast, the tour vehicle will drop you at the Nanu Oya Railway Station in time for your scenic train from Nanu Oya to Ella. This train ride gives you an unparalleled view and penetrating glimpse of both the scenic beauty and culture of the hill country as you travel along. Upon arriving at Ella, you can check in and relax before heading to Little Adam’s Peak.
Despite the term 'Little', the area is named after the sacred Adams Peak (Sri Pada) where the footprint of Lord Buddha is preserved. Therefore, the mountain was named Little Adams Peak but is also known as "Punchi Sri Pada" as it stands at a height of 1,141 metres. On an easy hike up the peak, you'll pass through lush green tea plantations, waterfalls and paddy fields before experiencing a breathtaking panoramic view. After the hike, you'll head back to the hotel.

Kinchigune is an ancient village that is almost totally submerged in the waters of the Samanalawewa reservoir which came about in the 1980s. The people of this village have been engaged in the steel industry in addition to agriculture since the early days. The nature trail begins at the River Garden Resort and runs alongside the riverine forest of Belihuloya through paddy fields, across rivers and past local village houses with their extensive vegetable plots. Here, you will have the chance to learn a bit about the local agricultural systems and simple way of life in the countryside. Along the way, you will witness several types of beautiful birds, butterflies and charming little waterfalls before reaching the end of the trail where the Belihuloya River meets the Samanalawewa reservoir.

This exciting trekking tour brings you to the highest waterfall of Sri Lanka passing through small mountain villages and valleys. Bambarakanda is the highest waterfall in Sri Lanka with a sheer drop of 263 metres. The area around Bambarakanda is rich with scenic beauty, rugged terrain, waterfalls and tea fields with a cool climate that makes it an attractive destination for nature lovers. This is not a wide waterfall but drops as a thin line from a rocky outcrop.

After breakfast, it’s time to travel to Colombo where you'll enjoy a fascinating sightseeing tour. Here, skyscrapers grow out of historic colonial-era districts near the port yet this modern metropolis never loses its old-world charm. You'll have the chance to visit the famous Pettah bazaar as well as Hindu and Buddhist temples such as the Gangarama and Sri Kailawasanathan Swami Devasthanam Kovil. See some of the city’s residential areas such as Cinnamon Gardens where you'll find prestigious addresses such as the Prime Minister's Office, Independence Hall, Colombo Town Hall and the National Museum as well as the stately homes of the affluent.
