Opened in July this year, Angel Beach Resort & Day Club is a new and exciting addition to the Sri Lankan hotel scene.

Right on the waterfront in Unuwatuna, one of Sri Lanka’s most scenic stretches of coastline, Angel Beach is a place where you can lounge in day beds by the pool, enjoy the sunset over a few tropical cocktails, and then dance like nobody is watching till the wee hours.

Eighty poolside day beds beneath gently swaying palm trees, a swim-up pool bar where an international mixologist can whip up your favourite cocktail… it’s heaven. Plus, there’s gorgeous boutique hotel rooms onsite, together with a fabulous restaurant showcasing local flavours.

The TripADeal team recently attended the grand opening, and to say they were impressed is an understatement. Love at first sight is more like it.

TripADeal’s Global Product Manager Maite de Hedervary says the resort and club feels like little piece of Bali in the Indian Ocean. It’s also a fab base to explore the surrounding area.

The Dutch-influenced city of Galle, known for its grand fort and picture-perfect lighthouse; the Japanese Peace Pagoda on Rummasala Hill; the wildlife rich Rummasala Sanctuary; and the famous Stilt Fishermen of Weligama are all within easy reach of the resort.

The day club can accommodate up to 250 guests at any one time, but it still feels intimate. For special events, including destination weddings, the property can host up to 500 guests.
