Overview

Discover the Indian sub-continent and the Arabian Gulf in an exotic 15-day tour and cruise package with MSC Cruises.

This one-of-a-kind experience starts with a tour of India’s Golden Triangle: Delhi, Jaipur and Agra. Visit Chandni Chowk’s colourful shopping bazaar in Old Delhi on a rickshaw ride, then drive past the monumental Red Fort. In New Delhi, visit the Laxmi Narayan Temple, dedicated to Lakshmi, the goddess of prosperity and good fortune. Also, see the 42-metre India Gate and Rashtrapati Bhawan, the official residence of the President of India. If Delhi is striking, wait until you see Jaipur, the Pink City, home of the Amber Fort, built with white marble and red sandstone, contrasting with the nearby Maota Lake. On your way to Agra, stop by the Chand Baori Step Well, one of the largest in the country. In Agra, see the Taj Mahal, the architectural love letter built on white marble inlaid with semi-precious stones that have stood the test of time. Catch a train back to Delhi before the end of your Indian adventure.

Fly to Dubai to enter a world that evokes ancient tales of Arab royalty mixed with ultra-modern technology.

Embark on the MSC Euribia, your home for the next seven nights, and one of the world's most environmentally advanced cruise ships. Various specialty dining options, with restaurants featuring Mediterranean cuisine, sushi and teppanyaki, and a dedicated French bistro, are on offer alongside the expansive buffet and 24-hour snack bars. Entertainment venues include a theatre hosting large-scale productions, a cinema, a dance club and live music venues. MSC Euribia also has a bowling alley and a large games area with virtual reality experiences. Various outdoor activities include pools, water slides, a mini-golf course, and a zip line.

In Qatar’s historical centre of Doha, you will find a Suq where everything is for sale —from camels to gold— while the nearby Aspire Tower, a futuristic 300-metre-tall torch-shaped building, dominates the skyline. The next stop is Bahrain, an island 40 km long and just 15km wide, with a thousand-year-old culture. In its charming capital, Manama, the imposing Al Fateh Mosque features Indian lamps made of inlaid wood, a gigantic Austrian chandelier made of Swarovski crystal and Italian Carrara marble.

Dock in the United Arab Emirates, where one of the highlights is only 15km from central Abu Dhabi: the mighty Sheikh Zayed Mosque dominates with its snowy-white mass of domes and minarets. Finally, stop at Sir Bani Yas Island. The former private island of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan is now a bird sanctuary and a wildlife reserve, the Arabian Wildlife Park. The island is a great place for adventure safaris, kayaking, mountain biking, archery, hiking and snorkelling. Extra fees may apply. Sail back to Dubai for a final night in Dubai before your flight home.

With return international full-service flights, a one-way flight from Delhi to Dubai, a 7-night Arabian Gulf cruise, 6 nights of 5-star accommodation in India, daily breakfast, one lunch in India, and all meals included while cruising, this will be a bucket list experience, so what are you waiting for?

Tailor your itinerary with extra tours available in India, plus Arrive Early & Stay Behind options available.

Stop off at the Qutub Minar, a 72.5-meter victory tower with five distinct levels. It is the world's tallest brick minaret, built by Qutb ud-din Aibak in 1193. Day 5 Jaipur - Chand Baori - Agra

After breakfast, depart for Agra. Stop en route to visit the Chand Baori Step Well, located opposite the Harshat Mata Temple.

Continue the drive to Agra, the quintessential Mughal City, where the world marvels at the epitome of love, beauty and sacrifice. Agra is home to the Taj Mahal, one of the wonders of the world. So overwhelming is the magic monument that Agra was immortalised as the City of the Taj. This afternoon, you will visit the world-famous Taj Mahal, where you will see the undeniable beauty that incorporates and expands on the traditional design of Persian and earlier Mughal architecture. While earlier Mughal buildings were primarily constructed of red sandstone, Shah Jahan promoted the use of white marble inlaid with semi-precious stones. The Taj Mahal was commissioned by Shah Jahan in 1631 to be built in memory of his wife, Mumtaz Mahal. Construction of the Taj Mahal began in 1632, the principal mausoleum was completed in 1643, and the surrounding buildings and garden were finished about five years later.

Sample some traditional foods, such as paratha and chat; savour some of the best chai, served in a traditional clay cup; and taste Agra’s famous sweet petha. Prepared more than 350 years ago from the royal kitchens of Shah Jahan, this sugary white pumpkin sweet comes in a variety of flavours. This optional tour includes transfer in an air-conditioned vehicle, an English-speaking guide, plus a selection of snacks and chai.

Overnight: Hotel Clarks Shiraz or similar, Agra

Meals included: Breakfast

Day 6 Agra - Delhi

Enjoy breakfast at the hotel before a morning at leisure.

Later, enjoy a visit to Agra Fort (Red Fort). A fascinating sight, it showcases a high level of ornamentation. The famous Kohinoor diamond was reportedly part of the furnishings. The fort’s artwork mixes Persian, European, and Indian art, resulting in a unique Shahjahani style rich in form, expression, and colour. Red Fort is one of the most important building complexes of India, encapsulating a long period of history, arts and innovative architectural style, including its garden design, which influenced later buildings and gardens in Delhi. In 2007, it was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site as part of the Red Fort Complex. Enjoy an afternoon of leisure, or choose an optional activity.

This evening, you will be transferred to the railway station to ride on one of India’s fastest trains! The Gatimaan Express. On arrival in Delhi, you will be transferred to the hotel for check-in.

Optional Activity: Visit to Baby Taj and Mehtab Bagh
Head to the mausoleum of Itmad ud Daulah, known as “the Baby Taj”. Marvel at the intricately carved marble monument, conceived before the Taj Mahal and considered the blueprint for its design. Welcome to Dubai, a city where tradition meets futuristic innovation. Known for its towering skyscrapers, luxury shopping, and vibrant culture, Dubai offers a stunning mix of old and new. Day 8 Dubai - Doha, Qatar

Arrive: 08:00 - Depart: 18:00

Overnight, the ship will take you from Dubai to Doha, the capital of Qatar, a city with a remarkable skyline and new super-modern skyscrapers. The Aspire Tower in Doha (300 metres) dominates the skylines. Shaped as a torch, The Aspire is the highest building in the country. Much of Doha, including places of worship such as the new mosque in the Qatar Faculty of Islamic Studies, seems to be set in the future. Don't miss a visit to the Pearl. This futuristic artificial circular port is being developed north of the city centre. Yet, the city's ancient heart still beats strongly. In the historical centre of Doha, you will find a Suq where everything – from camels to gold – can be exchanged, and the Al Khoot fortress, dating back to the end of the nineteenth century and now converted into a museum. During your cruise to Doha, some optional excursions will lead you to discover the north of the country and the history of this fascinating Emirate. Additional charges may apply. In Ash Shamal the Al-Zubara fortress rises up from the middle of the desert and dates back to the thirties. The building, which seems like an enormous sand castle at first sight, has been completely restored and transformed into a museum. Near the fortress, you can also visit the archaeological remains of another, even older, defensive structure, Qal’ at Murair. Also, you will find Zubara, a village of traders and pearl divers, a settlement that dates back to the nineteenth century and later abandoned.

Overnight: MSC cruises' MSC Euribia ship

Meals included: Breakfast; Lunch; Dinner

Day 9 Doha, Qatar - Bahrain

Arrive: 08:00 - Depart: 19:00

Overnight, the ship will take you to Bahrain, an island 40 km long and just 15km wide in The Gulf. This country has a thousand-year-old culture and is also called “the kingdom of the two seas” because its waters border with Qatar to the south and Saudi Arabia to the west. During your stop in Bahrain, an optional excursion will take you to discover its charming capital, Manama. Additional charges may apply. The city, where modern skyscrapers stand side-by-side with old buildings, has strong ties to nomadic traditions: its inhabitants often head out to the desert and stay in large white tents to participate in the ancient tradition of falcon hunting. The National Museum is an excellent starting point for a visit to the capital: an opportunity to learn about the history and customs of this territory. Entrance fee not included. The Al Fateh Mosque, on the other hand, is a mystical experience. It is an immense holy building with two imposing minarets, which can host up to 7,000 faithful, built from materials worldwide. For example, there are thousands of Indian lamps made of inlaid wood, the gigantic Austrian chandelier made of Swarovski crystal, and the Italian Carrara marble. Qal’at al Bahrain (Bahrain Fort) is a short distance from the capital. Of excellent quality, partly due to recent reconstruction efforts, the fort in its current form is evidence of 16th-century “raiding” by Portuguese sailors. However, the hill it is set has been the site of several human settlements over the centuries. Finally, you cannot leave Bahrain without having bought or admired the marvellous and highly prized pearls gathered in its sea.

Home to the extravagant Emirates Palace Hotel and the even more spectacular Sheikh Zayed Mosque, the various attractions of Yas Island and the vast Ferrari World theme park lie just down the road. The blockbuster attraction at Abu Dhabi’s Yas Island is a dream excursion for any F1 fans. As one of the world’s biggest indoor theme parks, it offers a wide range of Ferrari-themed rides and displays that will appeal both to kids and grown-ups, including the chance to drive an F1 simulator or to ride the Formula Rossa roller coaster or to experience race-day acceleration in the G Force “tower of speed” – as well as numerous gentler family-oriented rides. Entrance fee not included. Dedicated motorsports enthusiasts will also enjoy the big display of classic and contemporary Ferraris, as well as the virtual tour of the firm’s famous Maranello factory. Some 15km from central Abu Dhabi, the mighty Sheikh Zayed Mosque dominates all landward approaches to the city, its snowy-white mass of domes and minarets visible for miles around and providing a spectacular symbol of Islamic pride at the entrance to the capital of the United Arab Emirates. Completed in 2007, the mosque was commissioned by and named after Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan al Nahyan, who lies buried in a modest white marble mausoleum close to the entrance. The mosque is one of the world’s most extensive and most expensive, having taken twelve years to build at a cost of around US$500 million.

Other important information

TOUR GUIDE VS. TOUR LEADER
Tour Guide:
Often locals with intimate knowledge of an area, its culture, and history. Their role entails providing commentary, routing the tour, and seeing that people have a good time. They are a licensed, qualified expert who supplies specific information on the history, art, architecture and culture of the city/village/attraction where they are guiding the tour. The guide meets the group at the required place and leaves it at the end of the tour; they do not travel with the group.

Tour Leader:
An experienced person tasked with ensuring the smooth operation of tours, as well as providing practical support to passengers throughout the whole trip. Their role primarily includes assisting with accommodation, transportation between locations, and communication with tour guides at each stop. A tour leader may provide general guidance around a city or village and offer information on the place visited on the bus. However, they are not required to have specific art, architecture, or historical knowledge. They are not allowed to provide a guided tour or commentary of a city/village/attraction once there and, if caught doing so, can be fined.

Please note: Tour leaders/guides are not a standard inclusion in all travel offers. Tour leaders/guides will only be made available when required to enhance the experience of the destination featured.

CLIMATE & AVERAGE TEMPERATURES
India
In March, the Golden Triangle area of India—comprising Delhi, Agra, and Jaipur—experiences warm and pleasant weather, with average temperatures ranging from 16°C to 32°C. Days are sunny and comfortable, ideal for sightseeing, while evenings tend to be cooler. Rainfall is rare during this period, and the dry, mild conditions make it a popular time for travel before the summer heat sets in.

Cruise
In March, Dubai, Bahrain, and Doha experience warm, pleasant weather with average temperatures ranging from 18°C to 29°C. Days are typically sunny and comfortable, with cool evenings, making it an ideal time for outdoor activities. Rainfall is minimal, though brief showers may occur occasionally in all three cities. Humidity levels are moderate, and the weather is generally dry, offering a more comfortable climate compared to the intense summer heat.

Visas

India
A tourist visa for India is a strict requirement if travelling on an Australian or New Zealand passport. You will be able to start your visa application process once you receive your final travel documentation approximately 6 weeks prior to departure.

United Arab Emirates
Tourist visas on arrival are available in Dubai on an Australian passport.

Important:
• Please start arranging your visa three weeks before departure to account for any delays due to consulate operating hours.
• Visa rules are subject to change. Please check with the nearest embassy, consulate or immigration department of the destination/s you are visiting once you receive your travel documentation to ensure you have the most up to date information.
• It is your responsibility to be travel-ready and ensure that you are aware and comply with any destination or travel requirements, including the validity of all required travel documents.
• Passengers who are not Australian citizens must also check with the respective consulate or visa agency to determine what their visa requirements are and what personal identification is required.
• It is also important to note that some areas of employment, such as journalism, government authorities and charity organisations, may have additional restrictions in applying for visas. This may, in turn, affect the type of application required.

Travel insurance

Embarking on your next trip is exciting, and while you hope the unexpected does not happen, it is best to be prepared. We strongly recommend you take out travel insurance when making your booking. Whether it’s a potential medical emergency, a flight cancellation, a delayed suitcase, or an unforeseen event, it's important to ensure you're adequately protected.
