Day 6 Mahon, Menorca, Spain

Tendered 08:00 - 23:00

Mahon is the capital of Menorca, the second largest of the Balearic Islands. It stands out from the others because of the abundance of prehistoric structures, and because its culture was influenced by British occupation in the 18th century. Those who built the prehistoric constructions are believed to have also been responsible for similar works in Sardinia and Stonehenge in England. Believed to have been founded by the Carthaginian General Mago, Mahon was held by the Moors from the 8th to the 13th century and in turn occupied by the English, the French and the Spanish. Mahon was then finally ceded to Spain by the Treaty of Amiens in 1802.

Day 8 Cagliari, Sardinia, Italy

Tendered 08:00 - 17:00

The pleasingly green, quiet island of Sardinia offers visitors scenic beauty and a relaxed lifestyle. Cagliari, the island's capital, features handsome Italianate architecture and several churches reflecting a variety of influences. Impressive views are provided by the city's hillsides with one of the best panoramas available from the old walls of Terrazzo Umberto. The island's natural charm has attracted pleasure-seekers to the Costa Smeralda since the Aga Khan sought shelter ashore from a storm at sea.

Day 9 Bonifacio, Corsica, France

Tendered 08:00 - 17:00

The scent of wild maquis carries you to aromatic Corsica, the birthplace of Napoleon Bonaparte. Set off the southeastern coast of France and separated from Sardinia by the Strait of Bonifacio, the rugged island was fought over for much of its millennia-long history; a particularly contentious period of Genoese rule led to a short-lived independent state before it became a French territory in 1769. Today, the island shows its wild side in its jagged mountains, steep gorges and forests of native Corsican pine. The town of Bonifacio is a mediaeval beauty and particularly striking to behold from the sea with its imposing citadel precariously perched atop the white limestone cliffs. Look for the legendary Staircase of The King of Aragon cut directly into the rock face; if physically able, climb the 189 steps for spellbinding, 180-degree views. Bonifacio’s cobblestone streets and piazzas are abuzz with craft shops, bars and brasseries, while fine-sand beaches and hidden pirate coves are plentiful.

Please note: This port is accessed by tender boats. Boarding and disembarking tender boats may involve steps and uneven surfaces. While cruise lines strive to provide ease of access, accessibility options can vary at different tender ports. Passengers with mobility concerns are encouraged to inquire about specific arrangements and consider their individual needs when participating in tendering activities.

Overnight: Seabourn ‘Ovation’

Meals included: Breakfast; Lunch; Dinner

Day 10 Portoferraio, Elba, Italy

Tendered: 08:00 - 18:00
Despite its small size, the island of Elba has been known since the beginning of recorded history. Called Ilva by the Ligurians and Aethalia by the Greeks, Elba passed to the Etruscans and later the Romans. It was ruled by Pisa in the Middle Ages, was a haven for Barbary pirates in the 16th century and then privately owned by the powerful Medici family. The island's most famous resident was Napoleon Bonaparte, whose first exile from France and short reign over Elba lasted from May 1814 to February 1815. During that time, Napoleon was able to improve the island by altering street plans, building new roads, modernising agriculture and developing the iron mines. Iron ore is still mined above the Rio Marina and then shipped from Portoferraio (Port of Iron). With a population of just over 11,000, the town is the largest of the eight on the island and is considered its capital. Geologists and gem stone collectors find Elba a treasure trove with over 150 minerals and semiprecious stones found here due to the seismic turmoil that created the island. The rich soil also produces an astonishing range of foliage and flowers aided by sun that shines almost every day of the year. Despite summer tourism, the island is largely agricultural and the ambience is quiet and relaxed, allowing the visitor to enjoy Elba's natural charm, peaceful abundance and timeless beauty.
Please note this port is accessed by tender boats. Boarding and disembarking tender boats may involve steps and uneven surfaces. While cruise lines strive to provide ease of access, accessibility options can vary at different tender ports. Meals included: Breakfast; Lunch; Dinner

Day 11 Portovenere, Italy

Tendered: 08:00 - 17:00

The port is lined with ancient houses from as early as the 12th century. And the dominant citadel dates from then, as well. Below that, explore the grotto where Lord Byron used to daydream. Or climb the castle beside St. Peter’s church for a view of the villages of Cinque Terre clinging to the cliffs across the gulf.

Please note this port is accessed by tender boats. Boarding and disembarking tender boats may involve steps and uneven surfaces. While cruise lines strive to provide ease of access, accessibility options can vary at different tender ports. Passengers with mobility concerns are encouraged to inquire about specific arrangements and consider their individual needs when participating in tendering activities.

Overnight: Seabourn ‘Ovation’

Meals included: Breakfast; Lunch; Dinner

Day 12 Cannes, France

Tendered: 08:00 - 17:00

Cannes was founded in the 2nd century BC by a Ligurian tribe, and was subsequently colonised by the Romans in 154 AD. During the town's entire history it went through a period of upheaval and desolation by war. In 1834, Lord Brougham, an English aristocrat, was so enchanted by Cannes that he decided to settle there. This marked the beginning of the town's affluence, with luxury residences springing up to provide winter accommodations for international nobility. From 1930 onward, Cannes became a summer resort. Its local economy had traditionally relied on fishing, but was quickly replaced by tourism. Today, Cannes is best known for its world famous film festival and, for two weeks in May each year, attracts the brightest and most talented stars of the silver screen.

Day 13 La Ciotat, France

Tendered: 08:00 - 17:00

The charming harbour of La Ciotat is on the Cote d’Azur midway between Marseille and Toulon. It is in some ways archetypical of the Riviera. If one thinks of Cannes and St. Tropez in relation to cinema, then La Ciotat predates their notoriety, for it was here that the Lumière Brothers, summer residents, filmed the arrival of a locomotive at the local station in 1895, which became the first commercially displayed cinema in history. They filmed several other pioneer films here, and also created the first colour photographs in La Ciotat. Not to be outdone, Jules Le Noir invented the quintessential Rivera boules game pétanque here in 1910. Learn all about it in the local Musée Ciotaden.
Please note this port is accessed by tender boats. Boarding and disembarking tender boats may involve steps and uneven surfaces. While cruise lines strive to provide ease of access, accessibility options can vary at different tender ports. Overnight: Seabourn ‘Ovation’

Meals included: Breakfast; Lunch; Dinner

Day 14 Montecarlo, Principality of Monaco

Docked: 07:00 - 17:00

The Principality of Monaco is the epitome of Riviera chic. This tiny enclave of 370 acres surrounds a sheltered harbour that draws yachts from around the world to enjoy the beautiful scenery, mild weather and elegant casino. Glamorous Montecarlo is one of Monaco's four quarters, which also include La Condamine, the business district; Monaco-ville, the capital; and Fontvieille, an area built on reclaimed land. Ruled by Prince Albert II, Monaco has a population of over 32,000, of which about 16 percent are citizens, or Monégasques.

Overnight: Seabourn ‘Ovation’

Meals included: Breakfast; Lunch; Dinner

Day 15 Porto Santo Stefano, Italy

Tendered: 08:00 - 17:00

Located 27 miles northeast of Madeira in the Atlantic Ocean, Porto Santo enjoys the same climate of eternal springtime. However, the small 9-mile by 5-mile island also boasts an extensive strand of wide, soft sand beach, which its larger neighbour lacks. The northern end of the island is tall and rugged, showing off the columnar basalt formations and tortured geological evidence of its volcanic origins. The southern end is flat and mostly low, ringed by the beach. The main town of Vila Baleira is centred around a triangular plaza, the Largo de Pelhourinho, shaded by date palms and Dragon Trees. Here you will find the Old Town Hall and the Nossa Senhora da Piedade church, rebuilt in the 17th century on the site of a 16th century original. The Via Cristovão Columbo leads to the small house where it is supposed Columbus lived for some years after his marriage. Back up north, the village of Camacha holds a small Cardina museum created by a local man who crafted small-scale models of many of the island’s water fountains (fresh water was always a scarcity) and gathered traditional farming implements and other historic artefacts. The Fonte de Areia is a geologic oddity, an endless cascade of sand resulting from erosion of the soft sandstone cliffs. For golfers, the island has a new 18-hole course designed by Spanish champion Seve Ballestreros.

Day 16 Marina Grande, Capri, Italy

Tendered: 08:00 - 17:00

Colourful fishing boats line the busy little port of Marina Grande, entry to the famous isle of Capri in Italy’s Bay of Naples. Inhabited since the Stone Age and settled by the Greeks in the 8th century BC, Capri was the favourite retreat of Roman emperors Augustus and Tiberius, who built numerous residences there. The island has remained a haven for A-listers ever since, as evidenced by the many elegant villas that dot its dramatic coastal cliffs. Your first view upon approach is of the iconic Faraglioni, a cluster of three rock formations said to be home to the mythical sirens who tempted Odysseus with their songs. Today’s travellers are enchanted by the spectacular views from Villa San Michele and atop Mount Solaro. Wander the Gardens of Augustus, take a boat ride inside the ethereal Blue Grotto, and explore the remains of Villa Jovis, the most impressive of Tiberius’s many island abodes. Stroll Capri Town’s narrow alleyways lined with exclusive boutiques, then grab a limoncello in the central piazza, La Piazzetta, and soak in the charm.

Day 17 Giardini Naxos (Taormina), Italy

Tendered: 08:00 - 17:00

This harbour on the eastern shore of Sicily near Messina gives up close access to the fabulous Greco-Roman ruins of Taormina, as well as the active volcano Mt. Etna. The temples, streets and large amphitheatre of Taormina make it one of Italy’s premier ancient sites. Its location overlooking the sea and with the backdrop of snow-capped Etna complete the package and make it among the most famous attractions in the Mediterranean region. Giardini Naxos itself boasts a lovely beach at Lido Europa, and intrepid visitors can climb Mt. Etna to see a volcano close up.

Day 18 Overnight - Valletta, Malta

Docks: 08:00

Steeped in a history shaped by the Phoenicians, Greeks, Carthaginians, Romans, Arabs, French, and British, Malta stands as a testament to its strategic significance across the ages. Formerly a British Crown Colony until 1964, Malta earned the George Cross for its resolute resistance during WWII.

Valletta, the current capital, and Medina, its capital until 1565, are living testaments to Malta's rich heritage. Valletta, a UNESCO World Heritage site, showcases the architectural prowess of the Knights of St. John. St. John's Co-Cathedral and the Palace of the Grand Masters stand as masterpieces, embodying the island's cultural tapestry. The fortifications surrounding Valletta are a testament to the island's enduring spirit and guard its magnificent harbours.

Overnight: Seabourn ‘Ovation’

Day 19 Valletta, Malta - Mgarr (Victoria) Gozo, Malta

Departs: 05:00
Walking through Valletta is like stepping into a living museum. Cobblestone streets wind through a charming blend of historic and modern structures, bustling markets, and vibrant cafes. The city's architecture reflects a harmonious blend of Baroque, Mannerist, and Neoclassical styles, creating a captivating atmosphere.

Mgarr
Tendered: 08:00 - 17:00
A port not often visited by cruise ships, being more accustomed to welcoming fishing boats and private yachts. Malta’s smaller sister-isle has a lot of charm to offer. Villages such as Mgarr all boast tall, elaborately carved churches, the result of a combination of fine-grained, easily carved stone, time, and stonemasons whose skill is matched only by their religious devotion. The city of Victoria was so named to honour the British queen’s Diamond jubilee.

Day 21 Ajaccio, Corsica, France

Docked: 08:00 - 18:00

Corsica, the 'scented isle,' was the birthplace of Napoleon, and as late as the last century bands of brigands controlled his mountainous and rugged homeland. The beaches of Ajaccio, ranging from narrow crescents to broad, golden expanses help to account for the city's rise as a popular resort. Such scenic attractions as the Calanches of Piana, those red granite mountains with their spectacular slopes and formations add an additional element of interest.

Overnight: Seabourn ‘Ovation’

Meals included: Breakfast; Lunch; Dinner

Day 22 St Tropez, France

Tendered: 08:00 - 17:00

On the southern shore of one of the most beautiful bays of the Riviera, the little port of St. Tropez has become one of the best known resorts in Europe, a crossroads where journalists, photographers, writers, artists and celebrities meet. Guy de Maupassant discovered the town, but it was the painters who made it more widely known - Signac, Matisse, Bonnard, Marquet, Camoin - who all stayed for varying amounts of time. The harbour teems with life. Fishing boats, excursion craft and hundreds of yachts share the harbour. On the waterfront are old pink and yellow houses, which have been converted into cafes, cabarets and restaurants, luxury boutiques, galleries and antique shops. A picturesque and cosmopolitan crowd strolls the streets in season.
Please note this port is accessed by tender boats. Boarding and disembarking tender boats may involve steps and uneven surfaces. Other important information

TOUR GUIDE VS. TOUR LEADER
Tour Guide
Often locals with intimate knowledge of an area, its culture, and history. Their role entails providing commentary, routing the tour, and seeing that people have a good time. They are a licensed, qualified expert who supplies specific information on the history, art, architecture and culture of the city/village/attraction where they are guiding the tour. The guide meets the group at the required place and leaves it at the end of the tour; they do not travel with the group.

Tour Leader
An experienced person tasked with ensuring the smooth operation of tours, as well as providing practical support to passengers throughout the whole trip. Their role primarily includes assisting with accommodation, transportation between locations, and communication with tour guides at each stop. A tour leader may provide general guidance around a city or village and offer information on the place visited on the bus. However, they are not required to have specific art, architecture, or historical knowledge. They are not allowed to provide a guided tour or commentary of a city/village/attraction once there and, if caught doing so, can be fined.
Please note: Tour leaders/guides are not a standard inclusion in all travel offers. Tour leaders/guides will only be made available when required to enhance the experience of the destination featured.

CLIMATE & AVERAGE TEMPERATURES
Mediterranean
In April, the Mediterranean experiences a transition from spring to early summer, with temperatures ranging from 15 to 25 °C. Coastal areas tend to be milder than inland regions. As May unfolds, temperatures rise further, reaching daytime highs of 18 to 28 °C in many Mediterranean destinations. The sea also becomes more inviting for swimming during this period. However, it's important to note that temperatures can vary across different regions, and checking the specific weather forecast for your chosen destination closer to your travel date is recommended.

FLIGHTS
Seat Selection & Frequent Flyer Points
We do not arrange seat selection. It is essential to highlight that some airlines do not allow pre-selected seats. We strongly suggest you contact the airline directly with seating allocation requirements and/or arrive at the airport earlier to arrange your seating. While we do not add frequent flyer member details to bookings, you can do this directly with the airline once you have your flight information.

Passport Validity
Customers must provide valid passport details either at the time of purchase or no later than 45 days before the departure date. Failure to do so may result in the cancellation of the booking. Customers will be responsible for any costs and fees incurred in this instance.

Visas

Europe
Australian passport holders are visa-exempt for a stay of 90 days per 180 calendar days. The traveller must hold a passport valid for at least 6 months on entry with one blank visa page.
Important:
• Please start arranging your visa three weeks before departure to account for any delays due to consulate operating hours.
• Visa rules may have changed since Covid-19. Some countries and airlines may require you to obtain an additional visa before arrival. Please check with the nearest embassy, consulate or immigration department of the destination you're entering.
Please note:
• Passengers who are not Australian citizens must also check with the respective consulate or visa agency to determine what their visa requirements are and what personal identification is required.
• It is also important to note that some areas of employment, such as journalism, government authorities and charity organisations, may have additional restrictions in applying for visas. This may, in turn, affect the type of application required.

Travel insurance

Embarking on your next trip is exciting, and while you hope the unexpected does not happen, it is best to be prepared. We strongly recommend you take out travel insurance when making your booking. Whether it’s a potential medical emergency, a flight cancellation, a delayed suitcase, or an unforeseen event, it's important to ensure you're adequately protected.
