Day 17 Gijon, Spain

Arrives: 08:00 - Departs: 18:00

This ancient port city on the green Atlantic coast of Spain has a history of some 3,000 years. From its humble beginnings the city has grown to become an important port city in Spain. Its old historic fishing village Cimadevilla with its picturesque cobblestoned streets and old-world architecture remains today its main tourist attraction.

Overnight: Seabourn ‘Seabourn Venture’

Meals included: Breakfast; Lunch; Dinner

Day 18 Hendaye (Biarritz), France

Tendered: 08:00 - 17:00

Smaller than its neighbors St-Jean-de-Luz or Biarritz, Hendaye forms the political border between France and Spain on the Cote Basque, where the Pyrenees come down to meet the Atlantic. Politics aside, the whole area is culturally Basque, and the Basque language and flag are frequently heard and seen. Biarritz benefitted from the presence of the Empress Eugenie of France, who built a palace on the beach there in 1854 that survives as the Hotel du Palais. That attracted Europe’s crowned heads and secured its reputation as a seaside resort.

Please note this port is accessed by tender boats. Boarding and disembarking tender boats may involve steps and uneven surfaces. While cruise lines strive to provide ease of access, accessibility options can vary at different tender ports. Passengers with mobility concerns are encouraged to inquire about specific arrangements and consider their individual needs when participating in tendering activities.

Meals included: Breakfast; Lunch; Dinner

Day 19 Overnight: Bordeaux, France

Arrives: 13:00

Bordeaux is the starting point for many exciting excursions into the surrounding wine country. The patricians of Bordeaux have always been merchants and shipbuilders. Under the Romans the city had a flourishing trade with Spain and Britain. In 1154, as a part of the dowry of Eleanor of Aquitaine, it became English and remained so until 1453. In the 18th century, Bordeaux prospered from the slave trade, and later in commerce with French colonies in Africa. Since Roman times the quality of the region's vines and wines has been zealously maintained.

Day 20 Bordeaux, France

Departs: 13:15

Bordeaux has long been known as La Belle au Bois Dormant, Sleeping Beauty. And while the beauty part is undeniable, the sleeping part could be argued. Sure, the region is filled with treasures from long ago, including more than 350 historic monuments and buildings in the city alone.

But the capital of Aquitaine is also home to a vibrant culture and, as oenophiles well know, is the gateway to some of France’s most famous vineyards. In this UNESCO World Heritage city, 13th century cathedrals and 18th century palaces are commonplace.

Meals included: Breakfast; Lunch; Dinner

Day 21 Cruising

A day aboard Seabourn Venture offers an unparalleled blend of adventure, luxury, and relaxation. Begin your morning with a sumptuous breakfast at The Colonnade, enjoying fresh fruits, pastries, and made-to-order omelettes. Enjoy a gourmet lunch at The Restaurant, featuring fine dining dishes inspired by global cuisines, or opt for The Patio's casual poolside dining. Spend your afternoon relaxing by the pool, participating in a photography workshop, or working out in the Fitness Center. As evening approaches, sip cocktails in the Observation Bar while taking in panoramic views. Savour an exquisite dinner at The Restaurant, followed by entertainment such as a Seabourn Conversations session with guest experts or a live performance. End your day with a quiet stroll on deck, gazing at the star-filled sky, and retire to your luxurious suite, where attentive staff ensure every need is met.

Day 22 Cobh (Cork), Ireland

Arrives: 08:00 - Departs: 16:00

Ireland’s second-largest city, Cork takes belligerent pride in its history of rebellion. It was founded in the 4th century by St. Finbarr, for whom its first cathedral is named. Hardly less sacred to its citizens is the Cork City Gaol, where its rebel heroes often resided. Visit the Crawford Art Gallery for its collection of native Irish painters, and Blarney Castle for a look at feudal history. Further afield, nearby Cobh, formerly known as Queenstown, has an Emigration Centre tracing the history of the great Irish diaspora.

Other important information

TOUR GUIDE VS. TOUR LEADER
Tour Guide:
Often locals with intimate knowledge of an area, its culture, and history. Their role entails providing commentary, routing the tour, and seeing that people have a good time. They are a licensed, qualified expert who supplies specific information on the history, art, architecture and culture of the city/village/attraction where they are guiding the tour. The guide meets the group at the required place and leaves it at the end of the tour; they do not travel with the group.

Tour Leader:
An experienced person tasked with ensuring the smooth operation of tours, as well as providing practical support to passengers throughout the whole trip. Their role primarily includes assisting with accommodation, transportation between locations, and communication with tour guides at each stop. A tour leader may provide general guidance around a city or village and offer information on the place visited on the bus. However, they are not required to have specific art, architecture, or historical knowledge. They are not allowed to provide a guided tour or commentary of a city/village/attraction once there and, if caught doing so, can be fined.

Please note: Tour leaders/guides are not a standard inclusion in all travel offers. Tour leaders/guides will only be made available when required to enhance the experience of the destination featured.
